Excerpt: This new player from the mega stalwart Sony has been the biggest buzz the reviewing community. It so happens that the BDP-S370 has been getting full marks everywhere! Finally Sony obliged us and sent us a product for review, for just one week (they are uptight like that) but that's more than enough for us. Let’s see what the hype is all about.

Excerpt: Anyone who bought a first-generation Blu-ray player last year should probably look away now. Sony's third-generation BDP-S370 is the cheapest of three new models (the other two being the S470 and S570) and, despite costing just £134, has the performance and features we only dreamed of 12 months ago. It may be physically smaller, but this is no cut-down, half-baked player.
Summary: All of the talk in the Blu-ray canteen is about 3D-capable decks like the BDP-S470. But if you just want a bargain, entry-level player with outstanding audio-visual performance and a sackful of features? Step forward the BDP–S370. It’s as good an introduction to Blu-ray as we’ve seen and a fine upgrade for anyone with a first-gen deck. What’s more, if your TV lacks streaming capabilities, it’ll sort that out too. Not bad for well under £200.
Conclusion: It's difficult to not be impressed by the BDP-S370. Even though it is pitched as an entry-level player, the sheer range of entertainment options it offers make it a compelling choice, especially if you don’t care about 3D. The IPTV features which can be a little gimmicky on some devices are really useful, especially being able to stream BBC HD through iPlayer.
Pros: Sony's Internet Video offering is really good, great looking Blu-ray and DVD playback, wide media support via USB
