Excerpt: 2009's equivalent model, the BDP-S360 , was a superb budget deck. Not only was picture and sound quality best-in-class, but pricing was extremely aggressive. The good news is that Sony has taken the same policy with the 'S370 from the outset – this is the cheapest model we've seen in a while, and we've already seen it online for as little as £150. Fine array of features But the good news doesn't stop there.
Pros: Scintillating Blu-ray images, excellent DVD upscaling, detailed, balanced sound, superb timing
Summary: All of the talk in the Blu-ray canteen is about 3D-capable decks like the BDP-S470. But if you just want a bargain, entry-level player with outstanding audio-visual performance and a sackful of features? Step forward the BDP–S370. It’s as good an introduction to Blu-ray as we’ve seen and a fine upgrade for anyone with a first-gen deck. What’s more, if your TV lacks streaming capabilities, it’ll sort that out too. Not bad for well under £200.
Excerpt: The Sony BDP-S370 is their new entry-level player for 2010 and brings with it a surprising level of functionality. It sits at the bottom of the Sony line-up and the notable feature that it doesn't offer is compatibility with 3D, which is being rolled out to other players in the range via firmware updates.
Pros: Sony's Internet Video offering is really good, great looking Blu-ray and DVD playback, wide media support via USB
