Summary: I bought this two years ago, back when it cost $100.00 because I get free screener movies on my job (I work in the movie industry), and they are all Blu-ray format. I bought it for my HD TV in the living room. I have not yet used it for internet streaming, but for playing Blu-ray I have no complaints. The picture is clear and beautiful, and the sound is fantastic. It also plays regular DVDs as well, so don't throw out your non-blu ray discs.
Nice unit, been using this for 6 months it performs nicely

Summary: I like this BR Player, it does take a little time to load, but for the money you cant bet the performance. I like the frame by frame layers, and the simple UI, the video is smooth and reliable, over all its a decent unit for the price.
Summary: Never a single issue with this player, not with discs, not with streaming, nothing. I suspect the complainers are doing something wrong. Either they are not keeping their firmware updated or they have problems with their internet connection or both.
Summary: I purchased this player in February of 2011 for the streaming features and the blu-ray. It was to replace a home theater PC that used a lot of electricity. After a few months, it seemed that the Netflix streaming would lock up (buffering) while Hulu plus and other streaming channels would function without issue. I assumed the issue to be my home network's DNS settings so I tried to reconfigure the network. I even purchased a new router.
Summary: Have had unit for almost 3 months. Got a crazy deal on it at a major retailer that was trying to get rid of their floor models so I paid $20 for it. Just the unit. No box, no remote, no nothing but the unit. The staff dug through a bag of remotes and found a Sony blu-ray remote for me. Yay me! Anyway, my player is wired to my router. I cannot say I've had repeated buffering issues.
Summary: I bought the Sony BDP-S270 in December, when it was on sale for $94 at Wally World. If you just want a player that will play most Blu-Ray discs magnificently, this player is for you. But if you are getting it for the internet features, don't. All of the streaming is terrible with this device, netflix, amazon, youtube, all of them tend to freeze and buffer enough to make it unbearable to sit down and watch something.
Summary: I experience constant issues with this player and Netflix. I wanted to try any Amazon videos tonite, but exactly like Netflix the first 30 times I tried to use the service, it doesn't work. Specifically, It says I have to register my device using the instructions at amazon/bravia. Steps 3 and 4 tell you you get an activation code from the player. My player won't give me a code and informs me that its already activated.
Summary: I have owned this player for about nine months now, and until recently I was very happy with it. It did a good job streaming Netflix, Amazon Prime and Pandora, until a couple of weeks ago. The Ethernet connection just stopped working, and will not connect. It says physical connection OK, internet connection failed. The same wire works fine going to the XBOX360.
