Summary: I think it was a bit deceiving because it didnt say it wasnt built with wifi and in order to use the extra features such as YouTube Pandora or Netflix u have to have a internet modem and the modem has to be near the bluray.
Summary: When I originally hooked it to my TV -- a Sony Bravia -- the unit performed as advertised. It detected the TV automatically, video was sharp and clear and the response to remote commands was quick.

Summary: So I bought this unit about 6 months ago, and it has worked pretty well until today. Turned it on, tried to get to Netflix (like I do every day), and I can't connect... go through the process of re-setting the network settings like it directs me to.
Worked great....AT FIRST....Buyer beware. I can't recommend this player!

Summary: We bought this player thinking it would get the job done. We had a PS3 before but we decided to do just a stand alone player since we aren't into gaming. Big mistake. The S1100 has issues playing some discs - even brand new ones.
Open/close button jammed after a few weeks. Audio out only via HDMI cable.
17 November 2013
Summary: A basic basic Blu-ray disc player with wired internet access. Also accesses files on thumb drives. After a few weeks, the open/close button got jammed or something. Now the tray can only be accessed by use of remote control. No direct audio out. The audio accessed only by HDMI cable.
Summary: Played good, but not made very well. The eject button broke after only a couple of months, not a real big deal because you can use the remote, but not always convenient and it should not have broken. Now the whole face front has fallen off. This is not a home with small children, not mis-use.
Unit works, but it does not play Blu-Ray disks that are from regions outside the USA.

Summary: I believe the description to be misleading; the unit does not play Blu-Ray disks from outside the USA. I spoke with customer support, and they sent me a new player, which also does not play Blu- Ray disks from outside the USA.
