Excerpt: The Sony N460 blu ray player does what it's suppose to, play blu rays. It also has a ton of other features which I don't use except for the Netflix function which is a big plus. Sony quality has always been good to me and this product doesnt disappoint. What I like about it (although not having any other blu-ray players in the past), is how crisp and clear the picture is.
Excerpt: Getting ready to spend a week recovering from surgery, I knew I'd be holed up for a while and wanted to watch my Netflix streaming movies on my tv, not computer. I did a LOT of research and called every friend I knew to get opinions of the players available at the time. After reading all the reviews, I narrowed it down to this model and a very similar Sanyo one. The prcies were similar, features almost identical and since I have a Sony tv, went with the Sony.
Summary: I have been very pleased with this unit. The upscaling does seem to make a noticeable improvement on non-HD DVDs. The menu system is more like a computer GUI than an old-fashioned disc player.
Summary: I had same problem, not only in streaming netflix, but in any other wireless usage of it like You Tube, Pandora, etc. Last week I casually mentioned it to a friend, and he knew the solution, and it worked perfect for me too. It does cost money, but it works seamlessly now, no logn wait for a movie to load, no pauses at all while watching it. Go to a place like Best Buy (or anywhere else) and buy the Netgear Powerline 200AV Ultra for about $120.
Summary: I've had this unit for roughly 6 months and it's been solid. We use it primarily to watch BD/DVDs and on-demand movies from Amazon. The only glitch I've ever seen has been when loading Blu-Ray discs. It can take awhile sometimes but I've had friends tell me that's typical regardless of manufacturer because blu-rays commonly download enhanced content. It's easy to use and delivers a great picture.
Summary: Nice player to have. I cut my comcast cable off-charging too much, I use the netflix and all the channels the player offers. If I need to watch TV I use my Free Air TV-HD. Buy this player its good to have.
Summary: I"ve had nothing but good experiences with this player - it was cheap, it played my Blu-Rays just fine, and the built-in Netflix looks very good. It can be a little annoying to wait for it to "Update Internet Channels" all the time, but I think you can turn that off. I'd give it five stars if only it supported DLNA (uPNP) - I've got music and video on computers in other rooms, and it's annoying as all hell that I can't stream them to this box.
Summary: Purchased this SONY player from Amazon, discounted and with a promo coupon, for 118.00! I received it within TWO days on standard order-one of the many reasons I LOVE Amazon! It works flawlessly-loads and plays quickly and does everything I expect it to, plus it matches my SONY surround system unit, an added bonus.
Summary: For the past 20 years I've been trying to avoid Sony products because of how they've tried to get you to buy all the Sony accessories that only work with their product (Hello Apple). But the reviews were too good on this one to ignore and it's been perfect for what we've wanted to do. We have an older 27" tv so it wasn't the Blu-Ray feature that was the priority. We also have 1.5MBps download capability. Streaming has been great.
Summary: This was an early Father's Day gift for my husband. He was pleasantly surprised that I researched many Blu-Ray players and choose this one based on the Spec's. The clairty of the picture and the sound was amazing. It apparently enhanced our existing flat screen TV and our home theater system.
