Why would you buy a 4 year old player no longer made by Sony when you could buy a 'state of the art' device ?

Summary: $5000 for a Bluray and DVD player changer? I could buy a car that much money! This thing must be for rich and famous only. No wonder it was discontinued by Sony because a regular person will not be able to afford it and the rich and famous don't have time to use this thing. Maybe if it cost around $200 I would consider buying it but due to some of the bad reviews here I might not. I used to have a brand new Sony 5 disc DVD changer. It works for awhile than it stop.
If this product is anything like their BDP-CX960, think carefully

Summary: I have owned the Sony BDP-CX960 400 Bluray disc player ($800 at the time i bought it) for about two years now. In this time it has broken twice, about 9-10 months apart, and stopped playing bluray discs even though the firmware was up to date both times. Their answer to the issue the second time was to sell me a refurbished unit as they did not have parts to repair mine. That kind of reply really makes one think about who they do business with.
