Summary: After upgrading my laptop to a tablet pc I didn't have an optical drive so bought this one while it was cheaper than most and put it in a usb caddy. Haven't had any problems or drop in write speed at all whilst burning to 50gb bluray disks.
Summary: I fitted this Blu Ray drive to my Sony VAIO as a replacement for the factory fitted DVD drive. Fitting was easy on the VAIO just one screw to remove, marked with three dots. You do need Blu Ray player software if you don't have it installed, Win7 DOES NOT have one.

Summary: Fitted this in my Sony Vaio VPCF12MOE replace the blue ray reader that came with the unit took around 15 minutes to change. Rebooted computer had no trouble in loading drivers. All is working fine it plays the blu rays that the other drive would not. It arrived in a few days well packaged.
