Summary: So far it's done everything it was supposed to do including playing 3D DVD's and recorded 3D tv shows perfectly. I own a Sharp Smart TV which integrates the Disc Player with the remote i use for the tv making it very easy to use.
Summary: It has this weird thing where you have to plug a flash drive into it. I think it has not hard drive and the data from the disc gets loaded into the flash drive...so I bought a large one. In any event, It works great w/my Sharp TV. It has that link feature which let's you operate the B/R player w/the TV remote...and that's pretty convenient. Periodically, it won't shut off.
Summary: I bought this blu-ray to go along with a sharp aquos 3d TV, and I am very satisfied. The 3D viewing quality is very good. The only draw back is the menus and loading can be a bit slow but doesn't bother me too much.
Summary: The blu-ray player was delivered in a couple of days and it came in a Sharp refurbished box. I had it hooked up in a couple of minutes and started playing around with the menu's. The menu is slow and takes forever to make changes to the network settings, audio, and video. I haven't used the 3d feature so I can comment on that right now. We've played a couple of movies on it and once it's playing it works great.
Pros: The pretty blue led ring lights up real nice on the front of the box. That's about all the pros I can think of.
Cons: never streamed correctly. always had to unplug and then plug back in to get it to work. Now, after 3 months, it completely stopped streaming. I bought it for the streaming, now I'll need a new unit.
Summary: OK...so I am one of those who is going to be "hooked" on 3d. I read all the reviews and there is so much negative stuff that it seems maybe the best idea is to forget it! But... I got a new 60" Sharp 3d wi-fi TV and I decided to stick with the Sharp 3d DVD Player. Its a great player, and a great TV. Forget those negative reviews and get what you think is best - but to be safe buy a warrenty.
