Excellent Blu-Ray Player

Amazon Customer "Some random guy", Amazon
1 May 2009
  • Summary: Great player. A little slow to start up, but excellent once it gets going. The new ones (after March 2009) have the latest firmware updates, so you don't have the problem that others talk about. Works very well with my Sharp Aquos TV.

29 March 2009
  • Pros: Exceptional picture. Quick loading. Sharp link. Great price. All good!
  • Cons: It cant do dishes! Then it would be just about perfect. I like a lot of bass in the audio so I will probably add a sound system.

GREAT DVD player!! Works seamlessly with Sharp Aquos TV!

  • Summary: I'm a 52 year old grandmother, not a "stealth advertiser" -- whenever you are in doubt about a product's reviews, click the "see all my reviews" link as "stealth advertisers" tend to review only ONE product that they want to malign or promote. If you find only ONE review for that ONE product, you might want to take that review with a "grain of salt.

a really nice blue ray player. disregard other poor reviews

Robert Inverso, Amazon
10 February 2009
  • Summary: unlike a few of the reviews i have read, this sharp aquos bd is great.i have tried many types of dvd and blue ray disc s in it without any problem. it loads as fast as any blue ray that ive seen. i believe the problem with the other reviewers is they used cheap hdmi cables. dont beleive that they are all the same. i spoke to a professional AV technician. and he told me of his experiances with hdmi cables, which can create problems on some discs and not others.

  • Pros: Easy to use .Looks great. Outstanding picture quality. Loading times are acceptable.
  • Cons: Only one. I wish it had a coaxial outputt so my Sony receiver could decode the audio. I will be upgrading my receiver soon as it does not have any HDMI capabilities.

Solid Blu Ray Player

Jimmy Dodson, Amazon
14 January 2009
  • Summary: I purchased this at a Military Exchange on the day after Christmas sale for $170.00. Purchased a 12ft.HDMI cable on eBay for $12.00 and received it 3 days later. Both work great. I must say I am pleased with it, the load time is long, but I can deal with that. Blu Ray movies are awesome on this, and normal DVDs look better. I have a Sharp Aquos flatscreen and they work nicely together. I have to say I am very pleased.

Great Player

Joy A. Hermann "Giraffes5gb", Amazon
14 January 2009
  • Summary: This item works so well with my Sharp Aquios HDTV. When watching TV, if I pop in a DVD, it switches automatically to DVD. (It communicates as promised!) Takes awhile to load any DVD but they all do that. Picture and sound are amazing and it does upconvert all regular DVDs as promised.

Very Good Buy

Working Mom "Working Mom", Amazon
12 January 2009
  • Summary: Ive been watching movies on this for about two weeks now. It was mostly easy to set up - took about 15 minutes. We did have to adjust the sound a little bit, it started off distorted. After a little tweaking though, everything was great. I do not have an Aquos TV, and needed an HDMI cable. The cable does not cost very much. I've watched both normal and BluRay DVDs on this without any issues.
