  • Pros: A standalone player, the BD-HP20 is temptingly cheap compared to say the Pioneer LX01BD . It succeeds in delivering excellent Blu-ray pictures, thankfully, along with a quick power-on mode that shaves seconds off the sluggish start-up time that afflicts most Blu-ray players.   • Cons: …Irritatingly, though, this quick start function actually uses more power by keeping the player in a sort of semi-standby mode, so green-minded users will switch the thing off anyway. And with BD Profile 1.0 support only, both BonusView and BD-Live content are off the menu. Shame.
