Summary: I bought this player to mount on the wall below my Samsung 7000 series tv at Christmas last year. The shell matches the bezel of the tv and looks great. I also have the matching sound bar. The player not only plays blu-ray and DVD discs but it also connects to the internet and has some built in applications. These are NetFlix, Pandora and Youtube. Pandora and Netflix work wonderfully but YouTube is more of a gimmick.
Summary: Comments about Samsung BD-P4600 Blu-ray Disc Player: This is the nicest looking blu ray player on the market. It has multiple mounting options and a touch interface. Video and audio quality are great. Having said that... Trying to scan through scenes is slow. You can start to fast forward but hitting play takes a while for the media to slow down to normal play so you have to go back.
Pros: Backwards Compatible, Good Connections, Good Soundtrack Support
Summary: The first one of these units that I got worked fine for about a week; then, some functions suddenly stopped working. (Another reviewer reported that her unit died completely after about a week, so it seems as though reliability problems are more common than they should be). Samsung tech support told me to send it back, and it was speedily replaced. The new unit is fine, except that periodically the network settings get wiped out and must be re-entered.
Excerpt: I bought the new samsung blue ray disc player for two hundred pounds and i have to say it looks fantastic. its extremely thin, lightweight and looks really slick. the control buttons on the unit itself are more like touch screen buttons that regular ones which does make me worry about repair costs if they fail as its not as simpple as replacing a button but tthis is the way everything seems to be going these days.
Pros: great look, lightweight wall mounted or free standing
Cons: remote controll very bland doesnt really match the player itself
