Summary: We bought this blu-ray player to match our Samsung television. It is very attractive, sleek and low profile. It lights up red when you turn it on and looks futuristic. It works well too; we haven't had any issues with playback/functionality, even with non-blu-ray discs. The only draw back is that because there are no "buttons" - it is all touch based - that I tend to accidentally turn the player on when I am cleaning, which in turn causes the TV to turn on, and then I...
Summary: very sleek, worked well for 2 years and then stopped working. would freeze for DVD's and skip all over the place. The warranty expired and fixing it would cost more than a new one. Do yourself a favor and pass on this one.
Summary: this model of Samsung only look cool but does not work well functionality. I have consistent problem with Blu-ray player. It does not play most of the disks. I got really frustrated with this product. I would suggest to buy something which more functionality even it does not look cool.
Summary: I bought this not wanting to spare any expense, just wanted a good Blu-ray player that would also play Divx, xvid, and mkv files, and being such an expensive player I assumed this one would do a good job. Wrong. Having owned it for about 10 months, and having kept it updated with any firmware upgrades (in hopes that the bugs and annoyances would be fixed), it's finally frozen up completely. How could such a thing happen to this top-of-the-line player?
Summary: I bought this player to mount on the wall below my Samsung 7000 series tv at Christmas last year. The shell matches the bezel of the tv and looks great. I also have the matching sound bar. The player not only plays blu-ray and DVD discs but it also connects to the internet and has some built in applications. These are NetFlix, Pandora and Youtube. Pandora and Netflix work wonderfully but YouTube is more of a gimmick.
Summary: great picture, has some funny bugs I can't seem to work around. Wireless connection and commands a little funky, super cool case/body style. Odd DVD loading made finding a location for the unit limiting. From the side, plan in advance for future purchase. Menus could be easier, but ok. Using with Samy 8000 series LED TV. Price was great value. Love the built in streaming, though our Roku is better. Streaming picture quality is very good even with non HD stream.
Summary: This Samsung Bluray player does a lot of things. I mean you have Netflix, Blockbuster, Pandora and YouTube. It plays DVD's CD's and you can even connect wirelessly to your PC and play your music files. One thing is missing..... It does not play Bluray. I'm talking straight out of the box. I'll be returning promptly.
Summary: This is my first blu ray player so I am not sure what I should expect, but I am impressed. The integration with other samsung products is simple and reduces the use of another remote. It spins up relatively quickly and the picture is amazing. Also, this comes with a wireless USB adapter and gives you access to youtube, netflix, pandora. I found this easy to use and a great add to my home theater. Only item I would caution you on is the tray comes out of the side.
Summary: this thing rocks. it's great looking. it upscales reg dvd's, so they look much better. i haven't hooked up the wifi yet,so no comment. the price i paid, $215, was not much more than costco's sony model ($179 plus tax), which was not netflix, pandora, etc, equiped, nor did it do wi-fi. this also came with the lan on the player. negatives: like others have said: due to the sleek design, it's a little annoying hooking up the wires. ALSO, this is a side loading device.
Summary: It works well right out of the box. It plays my bluray discs, DVD's, and streams netflix without any problem. I am very happy with my purchase. I had a lower model samsung (BD-p1500) which didn't stream netflix so I upgraded. I'm happy I didn't listen to the reviews. My entire theatre system is Samsung and I haven't had any issues with any component.
