I used to like it.

Donna, Amazon
26 September 2010
  • Summary: Now I don't. I just purchased 4 blu-ray movies by Disney. And this player will not play them properly, with the most current firmware available. There's a whole forum out there about how this player won't play the Disney blu-ray movies, and some DVD's, properly or at all. It also has a very weak wi-fi, so Netflix doesn't work most of the time either.

Worst product ever

Paul D. Green, Amazon

  • Summary: They call this a Blu Ray player. Only I'd never know it. Cause it will only load Blu Ray disks .5 out of 10 times. I've upgraded the firsmware 3 times in the 6 months I've owned it. We've rented disks -- it won't play them. We've bought disks -- it won't play those either. New disks, old disks, clean disks or dirty disks it's an equal opportunity no-go. If you are looking for a Blu Ray player... stay away from Samsung. That's for sure.

Samsung Blu Ray is not dependable.

RogerN, Amazon
4 August 2010
  • Summary: My wife and I had previously purchased a Samsung blu-ray (1600) and had had a good experience with it. We purchasd the 3600 from Amazon. From the outset, it did not play some bly-ray titles and would skip and stutter as it read the disc. It got worse and worse. I first of all went on line at Samsung for help. They confirmed that I had all the firmware updates and had tested everything appropriately I spent and hour with the person before being told to call Samsung.

Don't Buy! 3 Month Labor Warranty Shows Samsung's...

hpurcey1, PriceGrabber
25 July 2010
  • Summary: READ THE FINE PRINT ON THE WARRANTY BEFORE YOU PURCHASE! AND, IF A PRODUCT SO MUCH AS SQUEAKS, RETURN IT IMMEDIATELY! We were complete idiots to buy this Blu-Ray Player! The warranty is THREE MONTHS ON LABOR AND ONE YEAR ON PARTS! We purchased a Samsung BD-P3600 Blu-Ray Player in December and within the first month or so, it would pixilate when you fast-forwarded DVD's or Blu-Ray discs to get past the movie previews. We thought it was an issue with the discs!
  • Pros: Wireless Streaming - Netflix & Pandora Are Great
  • Cons: 3 Month Warranty on Labor. Main Board Failed After 5 Months. Need to push handheld control multiple times to operate unit (open & close disc tray), fast forward, pause, etc.)

Dirty, damaged, and not packed properly.

  • Summary: This unit came to me in a box with two tiny pieces of foam that weren't protecting the player but floating around the box. Also floating around the box was a couple of packing bubbles and THE PLAYER ITSELF. The player came to me "refurbished" but looked like it had just been pulled out of a teenager's play room. There were scratches and a white sticky/chalky substance all over it. I didn't even bother taking it home from my office.

What a disaster.

  • Summary: In concept, this is a monster machine. Streaming Netflix, Youtube, Pandora, Blockbuster (with the ability to rent and purchase movies that can store on the hard drive), along with Blu-Ray DVD is a portal to television for the 21st century. But... The unit arrived and, when plugged in, didn't have a working menu. The unit was sent to Samsung for repair and came back with a working menu but... The tray door doesn't open. This is a disaster.

Horrible Waste of time

Roadstar, Amazon
17 January 2010
  • Summary: Recently purchased my unit at Best Buy and while the Blu Ray player worked just fine, I bought it for it's internet streaming capability which never functioned properly. The unit would not connect to internet and despite the fact that I have laptops working flawlessly around my house, Samsung support blamed the router as the problem. Stay away from this product because when you check other reviews you will see everyone having the same problem.

Worst customer service on the planet

T. Lee, Amazon
5 November 2009
  • Summary: I was happy with my player until a firmware update rendered it inoperable. First I was told I was SOL. That you shouldn't update the player unless you are experiencing problems. After another call to the "executive" office where I pointed out in the user manual "choose yes to update now or no to update later" doesn't agree with "you should only update if you are experiencing problems". They agreed to not charge me for fixing my unit and here's where the fun begins.
