Summary: Well, I always thought this thing was slow. I bought it in 2008, and it seemed to take forever for movies to "load" and for the player to start playing. I won't go into tons of detail here, but now it just won't play discs. It says no disc, even though there is one in there.
Summary: Oftentimes the DVD tray doesn't open before pressing open 2-3 times. (at times we bang the top of the player to prompt it to open quicker) VERY loud machine in general, makes some strange noises while "firing up". Sometimes it doesn't recognize the DVD at all.
Summary: We got this when it was introduced to play Blu-rays but more importantly to stream Netflix movies. It worked briefly - we watched movies and enjoyed Pandora. We updated the firmware when they prompted us. And have had nothing but problems ever since.

Summary: I purchased this unit when it was new, it has seen two firmware updates to add functionality I don't care about. But the functionality that I do care about (It being able to properly play a blu ray disc) they didn't update. I recently received Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince on Blu Ray.
Summary: I bought this blu-ray for Christmas last year, December 10th to be exact. 11 months almost to the day, it quit working, it would play regular dvd's but no longer blu-rays. I called Samsung and the personnel were very helpful.
Summary: Worked well for the first 4 months, then began to stall, freeze, or play very poorly any Blu-ray formated DVD. The tech support at Samsung varied greatly, each had a different idea and advice, wasted lots of time on the phone with them, and most recommended a firmware update.
