Summary: I have owned my unit for about 18 months by this point. Mostly I stream Netflix movies and occasionally watch Blu-ray discs from Netflix. The streaming element has been very temperamental from the very beginning.
Summary: I got this as a present from my wife and I really loved it - until one day when I invited a bunch of friends over to watch a blu-ray I discovered that it had died. I couldn't watch anything other than DVDs, which defeats the point of owning a blu-ray player.
Summary: I bought this blu-ray disc player as a present for my husband. We had it one year and three months when it decided to no longer read blu-ray disks. (I find this ridiculous.) Samsung customer service was less than helpful.
Summary: I purchased the BD-P2500 for the Netflix streaming and DVD upconversion features. The reviews were good here and elswhere so I thought this was a safe pick for me. I hardwired the unit to my network and got the settings correct in no time. Logged into Netflix and I was off.
Summary: I purchased the Samsung BD-P2500 a little over a year ago and it has been a major disappointment. It did not work right from the beginning. I had to immediately send it in for repair because as soon as it warmed up it would rapidly skip through any blu-ray movie I tried.
Summary: After installing the summer 09 firmware update, we saw a notice on the screen that the Netflix keys had been hacked. That wasn't true. But what was true was that the firmware update is seriously flawed and Samsung knows but has failed to issue a fix even now, several months later.
Summary: This unit is wonderful when it works, however..... Despite software upgrades being installed, it has a propensity to lock up. It started shortly after purchase, but was very intermittant, and seemed to get better with software upgrades - although may have been perception. Now it is much worse.
Summary: The Samsung worked well for the first few months - picture quality and sound were excellent. I bought it in February 2009 and by July I started having trouble playing blu ray discs. The picture would freeze about 20 minutes into the disc.
Summary: I own a PS3 and this DVD player. Now that the PS3 is down to $299 there is no contest. To be honest, had I known what I know now, I would have paid $399 for the PS3 at the time. This DVD player just isn't quite there.

Summary: I purchased this product for my husband's birthday in February. Loved it at first. Great picture and sound - easy set up. Within a few weeks noticed that the player would stop responding during movies (both bluray & dvd) to the remote control and the panel controls.
