Summary: Lightly used with latest firmware. Won't play newer BD discs. Frequently freezes up with DVD or Blu-ray Disc in the drive. Samsung no longer updates for new Bluray encryption keys. Just another worthless electronic paperweight. I tell all my friends and family to avoid Samsung. I think their corporate plan is to have you buy a new BD player every year.
Pros: The remote: One of the best: illuminated keys, nice layout, lots of features.
Cons: Freezes OFTEN! No buttons work. Must unplug 10 minutes to fully reset the unit to work properly. Unit Door: Useless design feature. Need to leave door open so the disk tray can slide open. The Text Display: Hard to see --poorly designed.
Summary: I've owned this player since June 2010. Quality was good, Value was great. The only thing that annoyed me before last week was that it was loud, I could hear the disk motor running from the counch. Last week I when I turned on the blue ray to watch netflix I was notified of a new software update. I ran the update and decided to do something else. When I came back an hour later, the update was complete but it was frozen.
Summary: I purchased this player along with a Samsung tv. Tv is great. Player is pure junk. Rarely plays a dvd completely to the end; fails to read the disk mid way thru. Why would Samsung produce such a terrible product?
Summary: yeah, how can you list a product as very good, if it's never been tested? i bought a bluray player that was just that. didn't play at all. he said send it to me, i'll test it and if it doesn't work i'll refund the money. where i'm from that's a little backwards. shouldn't you test it before you say it's very good? is it very good to look at? how did he know if it was very good if he never put a disc in it? or is this a scam just to bait somebody.
Summary: I purchased the product, and was quite happy about it. One day I was watching a DVD, I stopped the DVD and from that day on it does not play anything. Curiously enough it was just two months after the warranty expired. So if you ask me I will never buy a Samsung Blu-ray player again.
Summary: I've had this for about 1 1/2 years or so, and it's always worked fine, until now. I only had problems on one disc, but was able to get around that eventually, and worked fine on all Netflix blu-rays. Then just the other day it stopped playing blu-rays altogether, all I got was a message that "This disc can not be played". It still works fine for DVDs and CD. I did the things shown on the troubleshooting on Samsung's web site, but nothing has worked.
