Summary: I bought this unit when it first came out in 2008, and have been impressed with it ever since then. I still use it today, and have been using it on average 3 times a week. I check for firmware updates regularly, and keep it clean.
Pros: like the quality of the picture and also the upscaling of regular DVD' s
Summary: $130 for a Samsung Blu-Ray unit, WOW! Thanks Amazon! Musta been a sale of the day but I saw this $200 unit for $130 on Amazon. Bought it for my son for Christmas, along with 5 Blu-Ray movies (from Amazon, of course). He was floored when he got it.
Summary: The first player I received was damaged, but that was UPS' fault, not NewEgg or Samsung (at least as far as I could tell). Had to wait 2 weeks before I got my new one back, but once I got a working player, everything went smoothly.
Pros: Plays movies at 1080p perfectly, via HDMI. It is compatible with my Toshiba REGZA TV, meaning I can use my TV remote to control my Blu-ray player- one less remote is always a plus.
Summary: I have had no problems with the player. I updated it as soon as I got it. I recommend connecting it to the internet instead of flash drive. Really if you want a Bluray player, just buy a Playstation 3, you get the best deal for the money. Overall great player!
Pros: I got a good deal on the player about $200 from Newegg. Good features, high quality, it has bd live but i'll never use it. Great player for the price, I already had a PS3 so I just wanted one for another room.
Cons: Batteries die on the remote pretty often, i guess that could be because the buttons depress easily so you need to lay it down right instead of upside down.
Summary: The Samsung BD-P1500 is a great first blu ray player. I have the player connected via optical to my Denon receiver and via HDMI to my Pioneer PDP-5080HD and it looks and sounds fantastic. I also have a Toshiba HD-A3 and the PQ is very comparable.
Summary: This is a very solid player at an excellent price point. Read any basically positive review and I would echo those sentiments. Yes, the front display is too dim and the remote is awkward. But it loads fast and offers a lot for the low price.
Summary: I was a little hesitant to get this blue ray, since so many reviews said they experienced problems right outa the box. But I took a chance and have to say it's working perfectly. I've watch about 9 blue ray movies and the sound and picture blow me away.
