Summary: When you're buying a multifunction device like this, it's important to have reasonable expectations. Electronics suffer from the same adage of "Jack of All Trades, Master of None," and the BD-F5900 is no different. As a BluRay player, this is a great device. It has a nice, slim form factor in piano black. It is unobtrusive, but has a stylish curve to the body to give it a little stand out from every other "black box" sitting in an entertainment console.
Summary: Bought this to pair with our dumb (old) but functional family room TV. Now can't get the family away from it. Lots of apps, can surf the web and stream content from the web, PC or phones. Very nice.
Summary: Excellent deal and timely. I was looking to drop my cable TV service and needed a device that would provide Netflix services, internet connectivity via WIFI, and a replacement for my failed DVD player. My new BD-F5900 gave me all of that and more. The installation of my new Samsung player was quick and easy. The internet connection and services are outstanding, the picture quality excellent, and the speed of operations astonishing quick over WIFI.
Summary: I bought this as a replacement when our older 5-disc model finally gave up and decided to take the opportunity to upgrade our system to a smartTV system. I am using it in conjunction with a 6 Series 42" TV that is approximately 4 years old. So far, I am happy with the purchase. Though it plays DVDs well, the real value is the WiFi connection that allows us to view Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon OD videos.
Summary: Was able to connect player to the internet and have access to my Amazon Prime movies and music. I bought 2, one for the living room and one for the bedroom. They work great and have given us access to much more media than our old players.
