Did not work at first... no video... read for fix!

jhughy, Amazon
11 December 2012
  • Summary: This player did not work at first and I'm giving it a low score because it caused me three hours of frustration which was unnecessary. I have this player connected via HDMI to my Pioneer AVR (receiver) and then HDMI to my Samsung 46 inch 1080p HDTV. Initial setup for this player was simple.

Web functionality questionable

David Carlin, Amazon
18 July 2012
  • Summary: I bought this specifically since I was tired of connecting my Laptop to the HDMI port of my telivision. After going through the setup and updating the firmware, then obtaining an IP address for my local network, the Web browser just spins and spins. The tech support at Samsung is a joke.

Garbage as a smart device

kdb2103, Amazon
18 July 2012
  • Summary: It plays back 1080p and 3D blu ray discs wonderfully- if that is the only function you need, then this is fine, but don't pay more than $60 for it. cpu_hog, Amazon
18 July 2012
  • Summary: I bought this Unit 11/24/12 from another vendor. I felt compelled to write this as it may help others that find themselves in this situation. First I want to say that my primary use of the player is a Pandora music player, I rarely use the DVD/Blu ray part these days.

Don't buy this for the "full web browser"

Gamer, Amazon
18 July 2012
  • Summary: It plays blu rays fine but the web browser is very limited. It doesn't support Flash so you can't play any videos. The webpages come up fine but you can't play the videos. It is difficult to navigate with the very limited controller.
