Summary: I own one of these and 2 BD-F5900's. This model does not support Amazon Instant Video and that is why the one star rating. As a constant user of Amazon Instant Video this unit is useless to me.
Summary: It baffles me that Samsung would have continued manufacturing this product in spite of its obvious flaws. Unfortunately, I didn't pay much attention to the reviews before I purchased it. I've since learned that every negative word written about the E5900 is true -- it has unexplainable connectivity issues, it takes forever to load (and often never does), the video freezes in the middle of a movie for no discernable reason and the controls are sluggish at best.
Summary: I bought this device to watch stuff on Netflix. The set-up was difficult because I prefer to allow access to my network through MAC address filtering rather than a password, but there wasn't a way to find the MAC address of the BluRay player. Once I did get it working, whenever I use it to connect to Netflix is slow and difficult. I frequently get messages indicating I'm not connected to the wireless network.
Summary: After my previous Samsung blu-ray player died under extended warranty, I was given this model and told it was the best at Futureshop. Well, after over a year it still won't play Resident Evil: Retribution, and Samsung's customer support has been negligible and insulting. All they do is keep repeating "Get the latest firmware," even when you have told them that you HAVE the latest firmware update.
Summary: I am not impressed with the Samsung Bluray players. They are slow to boot, lack options like 2D to 3D conversion and HDMI options found in their older players and Sony players and the smart hub system has issues especially compared with their ES7100 and better TVs. Smart Hub Issues It requires network access just to load which takes time and it does not provide progress information.
Summary: Every time movie is paused, the commentary is turned on when played again. Also starts from beginning if you stop and start. What happened to smart technology that remembers where you left off??? I have a three year old blu-ray player that does this, so why doesn't the new state of the art work? Very disappointed.
Summary: I have always enjoyed samsung products! This one does not meet the quality i have grown to expect. I bought this model for the web browser...I have yet to browse the web. Talked to tech support and the problem, or so i am told, is my geographic location. Ok! I hope the other people in Georgia's second largest city do not buy this player. I am really disappointed in SAMSUNG! My televisions, appliances, phone, and other blu-ray players feel betrayed.
Disappointed - BEWARE! Do NOT buy this for the web browser!!

Summary: Oh the player works fine. But I could get a basic Samsung BR player for half the price. I chose this unit for one reason: the web browser. And man was I disappointed. Don't get me wrong.... I knew the browser would not be that great, and utterly useless without a keyboard. So I did my research and found that the Samsung SmartRemote app for ipad would give me a keyboard to use with the browser.... which it does.... so I thought, okay, let's give it a try.
Summary: I bought this player when I purchased my Samsung TV. I hooked it up and it worked perfectly. When I bought another Samsung TV I ordered an additional player. It would not load and play any style disk. I figured I just got a lemon and ordered a replacement. When it arrived and also did not work I became concerned. Would it be possible to get 2 lemons?
Summary: I'll keep this short for ya...do not buy this Samsung player. For it's price, there are much better ones out there. I know blu-ray players are slow to load and warm up, but this thing is ridiculous. I have a Sony blu-ray that will warm up, load the disc, and already be playing the movie before this thing even starts playing anything. You can't get Amazon VOD on it either...what kind of crap is that?!?! Other blu-ray players offer it, so why get this one??
