Summary: I had to return this product to Amazon because I was unable to tune it in to my Samsung 3D television. I must have tried to tune it in at least 50 times and each time it would tune in some of the stations and not others, and each time the tuning would be different.
Summary: on three occasions now this item has not recorded programs, and i have had to watch on i player. It does not record them , or not let me view them. if you want to have a reliable recorder, buy something else.
Summary: Great Expectations. Wanted the latest and best HDR with freeview HD for a long time to replace my old Sony HDR. I thought "this is it" How wrong I was. 1st it arrived from Amazon smashed inside the box, cheap construction materials.
Summary: After the device went wrong, Samsung made me send it to an authorised service centre. They closed the job a few days later then did nothing for a month as I went round in circles to try to get it resolved. I have made 8 phone calls at my own expense to a total of 11 people in four departments.
Summary: Bought the Samsung BD-D8900 as an upgrade from a Sony RDR-HXD1095 as it offers blu-ray support, a 1TB capacity, Smart apps / Internet and Freeview HD + 3D player. Works fine with a good picture but it is much less easy to use than the older Sony.
Summary: Samsung BD-D8900 Blu-ray 3D Player with Freeview HD and PVR Upto 1TB I recently bought the Samsung 8900 DVD recorder presuming it had an input for HDMI or even scart but when I received the unit I was amazed to find the only TV input is RF.
Summary: I returned this product as although it provided a very good 3D picture the dearth of inputs meant the only ways of recording to the hard disk were either directly from the blu ray payer or else through the coaxial line input which I don't have anyway as my system links through cable.
Summary: I live in East Yorkshire and the analogue signal here was turned off in mid-August 2011. I bought this item in conjunction with a Samsung LE40D580 40" TV and both items have Freeview HD tuners. The TV picks up 108 channels but this Blu-ray/PVR box only picks up 59 channels.
Summary: We decided to buy a TV recorder because, with a young baby, we were finding ourselves too tired to concentrate on the television much past the watershed. With the large capacity drive of the BD-D8900 I figured we would not have to be fussy about what we did and did'nt record.
