Summary: i purchased this model August 2011 after about 1.5 years of usage, the player randomly reboots while playing a movie. But even worse, when the player is not playing a movie, whether it has a bluray disc in it or not, and whether the player is powered on or not, as long as it is plugged in to a power...

Summary: After about 1 year of running fine, both Samsung BD-D6700 units started exhibiting major problems after software updates from Internet. Unit#1 - Wireless no longer works (keeps returning to main menu when trying to scan for available access points.
Summary: I purchased this unit Sept. 30th. Had problems streaming Netflix from the start. Was told my Samsung that my internet speed was too slow. Upgraded to 24mbps. Was told that I had to buy a Net Gear unit to assist. Paid $100 for that!! Still having problems. Have called Samsung many times.
Summary: I bought this as a Christmas gift. We hooked it up a few days after Christmas. It worked nicely for about a month, but by February 1, it was dead. By dead, I mean, it can't read discs anymore. It keeps wanting us to go through set up again, but when we try, it freezes.
Won't Play Recordable Discs, Bad With Hulu and Netflix
T. Patrick, Amazon
30 October 2011
Summary: UPDATE 1-19-12 The review below is still true except I've discovered another major flaw. This player does not play ANY DVD-R/RW or DVD+R/RW, regardless of format. Yes, the manual says it can, but it can't. Many long talks with (terrible) customer service and that is the end result.
Summary: I spent three hours on setup and managed only to get Netflix to work. I had to reset the system multiple times, and had to manually type my router information multiple times. After it worked for one day, it wouldn't find the internet again.
Summary: I know this is old news and no one's buying these anymore, but I'm downgrading to 1 star. (Can't update the firmware without an extra LAN adaptor of some kind, which I've never been able to locate anywhere.) Blegh. No more Samsung for me.
