Like many others...problems after warranty and software updates. Purchased 2 units from Electronics Expo
7 January 2013
Summary: After about 1 year of running fine, both Samsung BD-D6700 units started exhibiting major problems after software updates from Internet. Unit#1 - Wireless no longer works (keeps returning to main menu when trying to scan for available access points. Only the ethernet port works to connnect smart hub Unit#2 - No longer reads discs both DVD and Bluray. Reboots by itself.
Summary: I purchased this unit Sept. 30th. Had problems streaming Netflix from the start. Was told my Samsung that my internet speed was too slow. Upgraded to 24mbps. Was told that I had to buy a Net Gear unit to assist. Paid $100 for that!! Still having problems. Have called Samsung many times. Their tech support is lousy! They always suggest the same fixes, which do not work. And they cut you off!
Summary: I bought this as a Christmas gift. We hooked it up a few days after Christmas. It worked nicely for about a month, but by February 1, it was dead. By dead, I mean, it can't read discs anymore. It keeps wanting us to go through set up again, but when we try, it freezes. Based on previous reviews about Samsung's customer service, I'm pretty sure I'm just out $120. Pretty annoying.
Won't Play Recordable Discs, Bad With Hulu and Netflix

Summary: UPDATE 1-19-12 The review below is still true except I've discovered another major flaw. This player does not play ANY DVD-R/RW or DVD+R/RW, regardless of format. Yes, the manual says it can, but it can't. Many long talks with (terrible) customer service and that is the end result. If you want to be able to play discs you have burned, look elsewhere. Netflix blacks out. You'll be watching a movie and the screen will go dark for a quarter second or so, then reappear.
Summary: I know this is old news and no one's buying these anymore, but I'm downgrading to 1 star. (Can't update the firmware without an extra LAN adaptor of some kind, which I've never been able to locate anywhere.) Blegh. No more Samsung for me. ==== Well there's a lot of advanced functionality on here, including 2D to 3D conversion, which I haven't been able to test yet. And I'll update this review and rating as soon as I do.
