Fair to middlin'

John H. Rowley, Amazon
9 November 2013
  • Summary: Setting it up & using it was very easy & the Blu-ray worked very well. After awhile, I could not connect to the internet with it. I read reviews that stated the same problem.

Great Streamer, Buggy BlueRay Disc Player

Charles (Relics) Terry, Amazon
14 January 2013
  • Summary: While I've been using this for a year now, this blue ray player is great as a stream box that works great at streaming DNLA servers and from Netflix (although the interface could desperately use an update). Best of all is using it with Plex.

Network Interface Error

rpfutrell, avsforum.com
28 October 2012
  • Summary: When the media streaming devices came out, I really just had to have one. I tried the logitech revue and google tv. I really liked the revue, but it didn't let me stream hulu which I didn't like. It also didn't let me play DVD's or Blu-Rays, so I decided to go with the Samsung product.
  • Pros: Pandora App - floating screen saver
  • Cons: NIC errors, no qwerty keypad, UI, memory

NO 2d-3d conversion as claimed

musiciantech, Amazon
30 April 2012
  • Summary: Beware the claim that this bluray 3d player will upconvert 2d to 3d - there is none. This can be problematic to those who would buy the wrong TV thinking their player will do what their TV doesn't.

Great Blu-Ray player. Internet apps not too reliable.

Abbas Jaffary, Amazon
22 April 2012
  • Summary: I purchased this blu ray player primarily because: 1) wireless built in 2) Hulu Plus 3) price (around $100) As a dvd/blu ray player, it's flawless. Fantastic picture quality, easy to use, works great. If that's all you really need, read no further.

Decent, but could be better

Arek W., Newegg
10 February 2012
  • Pros: Plays back all media with stunning depth and quality. This player up-converts media such as DivX for clear and sharp images. 3D media plays flawlessly.
  • Cons: Cannot fast forward some high resolution videos. Touch imput at times does not respond quickly enough as I would like.

Does't have an Amazon App!

Dr.Martha Bohn, Amazon
9 November 2011
  • Summary: This was easy to set up, but I was very surprised that it does not have the capability to stream Amazon videos. Since I am a Prime Amazon customer, I am thinking of returning this blu ray player since my other LG blu ray player does have an Amazon app to stream movies and TV shows.

It's OK

Papo, Amazon
12 August 2011
  • Summary: Most con and pro issues have been discussed here by other reviewers so I will just add my "two cents". Applications, e.g. Netflix, Pandora, etc. are super slow to load compare to today's standard; almost like comparing an i486DX computer to a Pentium III computer.

Great Picture and Colors, Features Fine When They Work

Aviator, Amazon
14 May 2011
  • Summary: I been using the Samsung BD-D6500 unit for a month now and found the picture and color rendition to be great. 3D viewing through my Samsung 3D ready HDTV and optional 3D glasses works well.

Not so smart player--Netflix App Glitch

BayGuy, Amazon
1 March 2011
  • Summary: Unable to view any artwork when logged into Netflix. Samsung finally admits that there is a problem with the app (probably the most commonly used and important internet app!!). Awaiting a 'patch' which Samsung states is 'forthcoming' but will not provide me with any other information.
