Summary: I bought this unit a year ago, and it's been trouble out-of-the-box. With brand new Bluray disks, it has playback problems with slowing down, skipping ahead, etc. The same disks read fine in all of my other Bluray players.
Summary: While very sleek and attractive, this product is full of bugs. It freezes about 10% of the time with discs and 50% of the time with Netflix. Samsung has never made a Bluray player that works well with Netflix streaming and even admits it. It is now July 2013 and the whole unit just crashed.
Summary: I am writing this review to let people know that it seems as though Samsung is making their machines to fail just past warranty. Just over a year and this machine has failed. This in itself wasn't so bad except that it follows the failure of a 6900 Samsung. Also just over a year old.
Summary: I've owned this blu-ray player for about a year. I've never been able to play an entire blu-ray disc without the player hanging up to the point that I had to eject the disc and restart the machine.
Summary: My Re-furbished BD-D6500 arrived today. Easily hooked up and working. I own several other Samsung BD players, and a Samsung Plasma TV, but this unit was for my home theater projector setup. It supplements a PS3 which for reasons I won't get into here, I will not re-flash to the latest firmware.
Pros: Has Dolby Digital Bitstream Re-Encode
Cons: It's not a PS3 - controls are primitive by comparison
Summary: When the media streaming devices came out, I really just had to have one. I tried the logitech revue and google tv. I really liked the revue, but it didn't let me stream hulu which I didn't like. It also didn't let me play DVD's or Blu-Rays, so I decided to go with the Samsung product.
