Can You Spell S...L...O...W?

P. Burdick, Amazon
31 January 2016
  • Summary: Slow, buggy, often locks up or freezes in the middle of an app. Not worth the time or money for what this unit is allegedly supposed to do in the wi-fi sense, even with the $80 LAN. Admittedly a nice clear picture with discs and the internet, but only when it is working properly.

You need a wireless Lan Adaptor

frank bailey, Amazon
8 January 2016
  • Summary: Disappointed that it states WiFi ready but does not state you need to purchase a Samsung Wireless Lan Adaptor. Other than that it is a DVD player but will return.

Not for Netflix Use!

Dean D., Newegg
5 January 2013
  • Summary: Would use my old Xbox 360 but I refuse to pay the $60 a year for a Gold Membership.
  • Pros: Was cheep (refurbished) and plays most DVDs without issue (see cons). Starts up very fast.
  • Cons: Netflix is so hit or miss. Some days it runs like it should on a 20mbs connection through a hardwired 1gb router. Most days it is so sslllloooowwwww. Takes forever to just connect and bring up the home screen. Then it takes forever for it to display all the titles. Then it has a 15 second delay w...

Smart Blu-ray is not worth the money

Big Sky, Amazon
20 November 2012
  • Summary: After a year of using the blu-ray players, I thought I would follow-up with a review. If you are buying a blu-ray for the "smart" content, don't waste your money. I bought several blu-ray players as gifts as well as a Samsung Smart TV. It depends on your manufacturer which apps they will provide.

No Amazon Prime Streaming support - None Planned

BlindedByScience, Amazon
18 December 2011
  • Summary: Is this a decent player, yes. It does not, however, support Amazon Prime Streaming Videos (that I can find), and the arrogance of the Samsung support person I contacted was rather breathtaking. I was told that this player doesn't support Amazon Prime, and it'll never support Amazon Prime...

3D Movie Format problems & Connectivity issues

NeCoGa, Amazon
30 October 2011
  • Summary: This player came as part of a TV package so we took what was given. It has worked OK until the recent purchase of the Cars 2 3D Blu-ray. Numerous times during the movie the picture would skip back two or three scenes and start playing again.

5500 most returned

david, Amazon
30 October 2011
  • Summary: I have noticed this player to be the MOST RETURNED Blue Ray Player Samsung makes. I've been to Best Buy and CompUSA. My findings have been from November of 2010 to Sep 2011. Bunch of returns on the shelf every time I go into the stores.

Good Blu-ray Player; Poor MLB.TV App

JCoz, Amazon
30 October 2011
  • Summary: The ] is a fine Blu-Ray and DVD player, but needs lots of improvement for the streaming apps and a networking problem. First, occasionally, the box gives you a network error - something like network not available. The only way I've been able to fix it is to unplug the unit and plug it back in.

Good Blue Ray-3D Playback. No Netflix. Firmware updates are too difficult.

Edrick P., Amazon
15 September 2011
  • Summary: Good disk playability (tried both blue ray discs and 3d blue ray discs) and no problems seen on that area. Netflix (which the device has its compatibility logo on the box) never actually appeared as an application on the device.

wouldn't recommend

Super Coffee, Amazon
15 September 2011
  • Summary: After a year and a half, I can't recommend this product. It has frequent problems where the unit simply outputs no audio until rebooted without a disk in the tray. The Internet features take ages to load and the UI is really clunky, typical of Samsung products.
