Summary: bought this as a gift for my girlfriend and i was kind of disappointed with the lack of wifi capabilities. with that being said, she had a very old dvd player so any blu-ray player is an upgrade.
Summary: After so many attempts to get it working with Netflix I had to call customer support. They had me update the firmware which took about 47 min. Then still nothing. It would freeze every time. Finally one of the support guys had me change the network numbers on the unit. Now it works. The remote has no options for Netflix. You can pause and play but can't back up.
Summary: I bought this player and it only lasted 4 months. It would not connect to Netflix (which was the only reason I purchased it) Called Samsung for three weeks they stated they had a software problem. I ended up giving it away and got the Wii. It was so much easier to use, and user friendly. So this purchase was just a big loss of money and time for me. I wish I had looked at the feedback before purchase.
Summary: Since the salesman noted that we would need a separate wireless adapter, we were not surprised. In fact, we've experienced no problems with this unit. We appreciate the fact that BBC news and other services are among those with which we can easily connect. Netflix movies download quite quickly and we've had no interruptions in the download process. I'm wondering if those who report download problems are using something other than a genuine Samsung wireless adapter.
Summary: The player arrived with the CD drawer cover hanging open. The hinge spring to close it is missing (it is not damaged; it appears it was never installed). The bezel stays open all the time. The Samsung help desk was unhelpful, and the distributor will not pay return shipping. So, we are keeping it. Plays fine so far, just ugly.
Summary: This is the worst blu ray player I have ever purchased. It does not stream from the internet without freezing, literally every 5-10 minutes. If you just want a blu ray to play just DVDs then I guess it would be ok. However, I wouldn't even waste my money for that purpose.
Summary: Samsung blu-ray disc player seems to be just fine. But am having trouble getting the HDMI cable that was suppose to come with the player. After calling Samsung it seems that Samsung does not know what a HDMI cable is. Thay sent be a chip insert instead. Still waiting for the cable after calling them back three times.
Summary: I have used this player for 6 weeks and at first it worked fine although a bit slow. I do not have it hooked up to the internet as I have roku, so I pretty much use it as a basic blu-ray player. The item has now started to skip and freeze after playing for about 30 minutes of a dvd. I have tried a dozen different dvd's and it happens on all of them. Blu-Ray and standard discs act the same. I am returning this player.
Summary: How can Samsung (and others) advertise "Wireless Ready" on their packaging and then not provide the wireless LAN adaptor? And then the cost of the wireless adaptor ($74) is almost as much as the Blu-Ray player itself ($84)! Deceptive advertising to say the least. Also, the remote control has no eject button on it. Needless to say, I returned the Blu-Ray player.
