Summary: I Have recently bought this multi purpose player for my bedroom. I only paid £150 so can't really fault it, but there are a few issues that I could point out. Samsung have updated this box to more expensive units seeming to address some of the issues with the BD-C8200. First of all , there is only 1 tuner, so when recording you basically have to turn the box on standby because you cannot do anything else.
Summary: I bought this product with the intention of using it in Spain on a community that uses cable T.V and the DVB-C receiver works great. All the programs that are available are found without any problems. I've had a play around with the Internet@ options and being in Spain i cant comment if there are BBC I-player or ITV Player apps to download but there are some Spanish apps that do a similar job over here.
Summary: I read a number of reviews before buying the Samsung BD-C8200 and while some were good, a few were a bit negative. This did put me off a little when ordering, however there are few products on the market that do what this one does for the price. I really wanted a device that played DVD's and Blue Ray (so I don't always have to rely on the PS3) and that also had HD Freeview (to avoid buying two seperate boxes). So, the product came in the post.
Summary: I got this unit when it first came out, and I do have to say I am impressed with this unit, but the people who have given it one star , I think you are being a bit harsh but that is your opinion and I respect that. But I would like to comment on some previous reviews. 1)Build Quality is bad?? I disagree, I think it's build unit is great, and I have had 4 different Blu Ray Players in the past and this is the best so far 2)The Remote control being to squashed together??
Summary: Reviews on this machine are split and I thought long and hard before purchasing. This is what I found; Setup was quick and easy; the BD-C8200 scanned found and stored the channels (including HD ones), without issue. I was able to establish connection to the internet via wireless router and carry out the software update, again without any problems (just a case of finding your home network and entering the key).
Great picture and great value despite single tuner

Summary: This box needs to be reviewed in context. At half the price of the Panasonic blu-ray recorders, one really can't expect the same functionality. Yes, it's a pain that there's only one Freeview HD tuner, but you have to ask yourself how often you really need to be using two HD tuners at once.
Summary: Just got this box over last few days with I have connected to a Series 6 Samsung TV. Picture quality is excellent. Comparing with my Humax freesat HD box, the HD quality is easy equal if not slightly better on the Samsung, but what surprised me is the SD picture quality is way better than the Humax box AND better the built in tuner on my Series 6.
