Worst device I ever bought n worst product support
30 December 2011
Summary: I expected this player/recorder to be good, but quite frankly it's the worst thing I've ever bought it constantly freezes if you try to stream with it, (at first I thought that this was down to Lovefilm not having enough resources to serve all it's customers but then I bought a Sony BDP S480 and with the Sony you can stream from Lovefilm or any of the other services available all day long without any problems) when it does freeze it will not respond to the remote control...
Howard Barnett Wedding Photographer "howard b..., Amazon
18 March 2011
Summary: I purchased this as an upgrade to my old LG PVR. This unit has one good point only the fact it can record HD, I would not recommend it at at. As this is not Freeview + the timer recording is very poor, no series record, inaccurate recording of programs, limited number of recordings.
Summary: I was really looking forward to receving this product and setting it up as it is supposed to be WiFi enabled device. For a start there was no instruction booklet in English. I contacted Amazon who were totally unhelpful; they could not get me an English Information Booklet and suggested that I contacted Samsung. I contacted Samsung and after a 15 minute phoen conversation I managed to explain to the lady what I wanted.
Summary: I orded this product on the 1/12/10 from Amazon ready for Christmas it is now January 2011 and i have still not recived it yet even the money has been taken from my account, so if your thinking of buying anything from this company which was supposed to supply this machine please think again, as you could be waiting for it for a very long time.
Samsung blu ray players dont stream Love Film or BBCiplayer
28 December 2010
Summary: It would seem that at the time of writing 28th Dec 2010 none of Samsungs blu ray players currently are able to stream Love Film. I have just connected one of the blue ray players and cannot get BBC iplayer or Love film although love film app does appear and says coming soon but if you check reviews it would seem lots of people have been waiting a while.
Summary: Bought this item as my first blu ray and DHH recorder. At a glance, it looks good but, I was not impressed by the inability to record one programme and watch another channel at the same time. However, I worked around it by splitting the aerial in 2 and connecting the TV's freeview in addition to the new Samsung.
Summary: The BC-C8500/8200 is a terrible blu-ray player. As the other reviwers have said, it can only do one thing at a time. If you want to record one channel while watching another, you can't. You can't even use any of the apps. The built-in software player is also awful as it keeps crashing and when it does manage to play files, it doesn't let you rewind or fast forward. The BBC iPlayer is still missing despite it being advertised as being pre-installed.
Summary: Oh gosh, where do I start? I would love to give this no stars. The Samsung BD-C8200/8500 is awful! Avoid it like the plague. I cannot believe how a company like Samsung dare release this kind of rubbish. The user interface is so bad it infuriates me because every aspect is not remotely intuitive. The remote is shockingly bad too. I'm sending mine back for the following reasons: 1).
