Summary: The first two that Superfi delivered had no HDMI output so after over a months wait a replacement finally arrived. There are many problems with the design, mainly there is no volume control on the unit, just a parasitic system that works with some TVs. This means hunting for the TV remote when the adverts because they are considerably louder than the programs. Avoid this model and avoid Superfi, their customer service is appalling.
Samsung BD-C8200 Blu-Ray Freeview HD 250GB HDD Recorder
C Wood, Amazon
23 October 2012
Summary: Having read many other reviews I decided to get this anyway as I am not interested in the internet features which seem to be the main gripes. I was looking to replace analog tuner/HDD/DVD player-recorder which was fed from a digibox. This product records/plays back (single) tuner to/from HDD perfectly. Great quality picture.
Summary: Found quick setup not so quick.Have spent a lot of time without success to get unit to work.Remote switches set on and several functions but others do not respond or are shown as unavailable.Instruction manual not very explicit.
Summary: I Have recently bought this multi purpose player for my bedroom. I only paid £150 so can't really fault it, but there are a few issues that I could point out. Samsung have updated this box to more expensive units seeming to address some of the issues with the BD-C8200. First of all , there is only 1 tuner, so when recording you basically have to turn the box on standby because you cannot do anything else.
Summary: Received within 48 hours after placing order and upon taking out of the box it appeared as an impressive item. Two sets of installion instructions are provided - a quick set up and a full comprehensive manual. Having installed a previous Samsung TV /DVD recorder set up, plus a Sony and three previous Panasonics using quick set up guides thought I would do the same here.
Summary: well i could'nt wait for this to come so i was over joyed when it did only to be let down the machine its self works fine does what says on the tin but the product has scratches on the top of the case which is disappointing
Summary: I bought this product with the intention of using it in Spain on a community that uses cable T.V and the DVB-C receiver works great. All the programs that are available are found without any problems. I've had a play around with the Internet@ options and being in Spain i cant comment if there are BBC I-player or ITV Player apps to download but there are some Spanish apps that do a similar job over here.
Summary: Basic set up was very easy and quick. Advanced set up for the wireless internet was not so simple but I got there eventually. My problem with this recorder was the lack of copy facility. It is not possible to copy a recorded TV programme to a DVD disc. Very useful when you want to record but watch on another player in the house. The facility does not exist in the menu. Also, it is not possible to amend the recording time when using the Guide feature.
Worst device I ever bought n worst product support
30 December 2011
Summary: I expected this player/recorder to be good, but quite frankly it's the worst thing I've ever bought it constantly freezes if you try to stream with it, (at first I thought that this was down to Lovefilm not having enough resources to serve all it's customers but then I bought a Sony BDP S480 and with the Sony you can stream from Lovefilm or any of the other services available all day long without any problems) when it does freeze it will not respond to the remote control...
