Summary: I went through 3 of these before I ended up buying a 10 inch Blu Ray Sony. I don't believe this product is available any longer and it is probably for the reason I changed to Sony. I have many Samsung product but this one was a big disappointment.
Summary: Received as a gift, within 3 months DVD format discs would lock up and freeze. Took it in for repair and found out the separate lens that played DVD was not functioning. Had it replaced and it worked fine in the repair shop. I took it home and put in the closet for my next trip which was 3 months later. Played the Blu-Ray movie fine but when I tried to play a DVD again the same problem happened.
Summary: Samsung hasn't had a firmware/software update on this product since 2011. I purchased the new Brave movie in 3d and this plays won't play it. I was told by Samsung tech support that I had to wait for the next "update" Really? They haven't updated this model in a year, and they probably won't. So should we reward them by continuing to buy their products?
Summary: I doubt that third time's the charm on this device. I got it in 2010 and I've had to replace it twice. Luckily, I got an extended warranty on it because I've sure gotten a lot of use out of it (the warranty). Even the second device made funny sounds while loading DVDs and it had a hard time reading Netflix DVDs. If I just used it for streaming, it'd be fine. But I bought it specifically to play blu-ray DVDs which my computer doesn't. Total waste of money.
Summary: I bought this last year, as a replacement for the previous RCA portable Blu-Ray player that I returned and was able to get my money back for. Anyway, on to this: 1. Firstly, this player was *VERY* heavy, and extremely hot. I dealt with it, but let's face it, it was annoying. 2. The screen was not that high quality. I have better quality on my portable DVD player from RCA. 3.
Summary: I recently purchased this at my local Navy Exchange. It was half off with an additional 10% discount because the box was opened. It was never used and all the accessories were in the box. At first I was a little skeptical on buying it because of all the negative reviews but also was encouraged when I read the positive reviews to take a chance and purchase it.
Summary: At first, I was pretty happy with this unit... but after a year of ownership, I've changed my tune considerably. The unit has a pretty wide array of issues that should have been corrected before this product was released to market. Since they were not, you'll deal with them if you buy this thing. I originally purchased this one because I have 2 Samsung home players that work very well & that I was very pleased with.
Summary: this product is made in China. Dose not function properly. problems are dvds dose not start. Shipping/freezing while playing. discs spinning out of control. bleeps and blunders. most of the time refuse to start playing dvds. when it dose work. the picture looks bad with bad white and black blocks all over the screen. There is no anti-shock protection as portable CD players do. what that is is a memory bank to store data when shacking and errors do take place.
Summary: I purchased this player in December 2010. I noticed that DVDs would frequently skip and sometimes freeze entirely during playback. The skipping and freezing seemed to increase as the disc played, with most discs unplayable by about the half-hour to hour long mark. I sent the player back for repairs to Samsung. Even though they replaced the entire disc playing mechanism, the problem persisted.
