Summary: First unit I ordered I had problems in which I could not update the firmware and was unable to do a reset.Samsung rep suggested I return to place of purchase. In my searching for a blu-ray I kept coming back to this unit,so I returned to Amazon for a replacement and I will add that this process went...
The one to get if you have an older surround sound receiver
23 January 2011
Summary: This Blueray player has 2 HMDI outputs. That is very important if you have an older receiver for surround sound. Say you have a high end surround sound receiver that is 2 to 10 years old (like my Pioneer Elite). It will have HDMI inputs and one HDMI output for your TV.
Summary: Seems to be generally a very nice player. Disc playback is good, and the included internet features work well - Netflix, Pandora, etc. It's made a Pandora fan out of me, and Netflix seems more reliable on the BD-C7900 than when I connect a laptop to my TV.
Summary: did all it was suppose to do..wireless set up was very easy with just one minor glitch that resolved itself after another try....the unit did have protective film over it that made it appear to be scratched, but was in perfect shape
Summary: This is a quality machine without going the $2000+ route. I had some doubts due to the prior model Samsungs that had some quality problems I'd read about. I've had this baby for about 3 months and zero problems. I use it about 3-4 times per week for various things with it's built in apps.
Summary: I would have given this product five stars but I was not able to access all the applications. Facebook also keeps getting disconnected. I am not sure if this is due to my internet connection or the blue ray player. Other than that it is a great blu-ray player.
Summary: I actually got this as part of a package from another store, with the samsun 46" led tv and a samsung wireless adapter for use with either the tv or BR player all for 1500. I also apologize in advance if I mixed up features between the tv and player, they both have very similar internet...
Pros: Completely fine for average person's home use. Does everything I expected it to do. Plays all the file formats needed by your average geek. Also internet capable, which is a plus, but it's not google tv, and there are only very few apps available. Netflix, facebook, hulu, pandora, and other reall...
Cons: Too few apps available. Would be better with Google TV and a full keyboard. PC Share Manager isn't exactly elegant. Leaves unhidden files next to the original files.
