stops working occasionally and fails to update software over wifi
10 January 2012
Summary: When it works it's great. But occasionally it won't read certain discs (which work in other players). Likewise, it says it has the newest software update, but it doesn't, so I had to burn it on a disc from Samsung's website, and load it in the player. That worked for a few months, then it stopped reading most of my discs again, both bluray and dvd.
Summary: Had this dvd player for a year now. Of course nothing can be done because the warrenty is up. Played beautifully at first then after about 7 months I noticed a grinding sound when I put in some dvd's. Didn't matter what kind it just happened at random. The player produced a beautiful picture so I was reluctant to give up on it. I use it with my Samsung 3d tv. Just today I tried to play a 3d movie. Would not play.
Summary: Product received in almost brand new condition (Thanks).3D & Internet at TV worked fine.Only 1 3d movie and 1 Internet at TV U tube were checked. Both worked fine, will try more later on & will update. Also want to inform other buyers that this machine come with 2 HDMI outputs as listed on Amazon.
Summary: Unpacked and stared in wonderment at this beauty. Setup was painless and easy. When it works, it plays the best surround sound we have heard on BluRay, and its 1080p is great. Unfortunately, it has some serious failings. Only about half of DVDs from Netflix will play on it, including both standard and HD. I have to revert back to my HTPC to watch these discs.
Summary: I went from a SONY BD player that was expensive, extremely slow, and would not play 75% of the discs after many firmware updates. This thing boots up in 10-15 sec. So far it has played everything and that includes computer created DVDs or CDs with pictures, or stuff from my USB drive. I am watching yoga videos from my USB drive on this device. I mean... Really? It also goes on the internet with the wifi. It took me a total of 2 min to set this thing up.
Summary: I got this onsale i wanted wireless internet for dvd and netflix.the dvd part seems ok but netflix keep blinking.i emails their support 2time and they never had the courtesy to answer.if you want a blue ray player you can get a good one cheaper if you want it for netflix i have had trouble with it and no support from samsung.
Summary: This is my first Blu ray player, first Blu ray 3D player. I have a PS3 so technically its not my first experience with Blu ray. I like how lite it is. Its lite like my Phillips DVP5992 DVD player. That thing is extremely lite. Starts up and just does things quicker than my Phillips. The blue lights for the buttons, the dvd drive and the 3D logo look nice. I like how you can change the background in the menus. I wish it had more choices.
Summary: BD-C7900 works perfectly with my HD Samsung TV set producing,in my opinion, very good picture and sound. These applications included with it that I am using are mostly easy in use, but Samsung, as far as I know, does not really have any good help on them. Unexpected positive surprise is USB port. In spite what is stated in the manual it can be used with at least Free Agent Go external hard drive and probaby other good external HD.
