Excerpt: I had a sony Blu Ray player before but when we got our new Samsung TV we got this Blu Ray to match with it. And man did I miss my sony. There are not so many apps in it but there are but when you match it with sony this one would not be what it should be. Though I love Pandora and also the HULU and a lot of other apps. Sony had some free cool Doctor Oz Apps and some Yoga app which I miss a lot. Overall this player would function well.
"Great picture...horrible speeds and not reliable"
8 December 2010
Pros: The image quality and color was awesome on my 47 LCD LED Vizio! The new "ultra fast" loading is much better than the bd-6500. Wifi and media worked well (Pandora and Youtube)
Cons: Seemed like several glitches. Didn't always recognize discs even if they were brand new. I watched part of a movie then shut it off and next day didn't recognize the disc . Even tho its much faster than the model before it would sometimes freeze.
"Excellent image quality, sub standard networking."
12 May 2010
Pros: Very good image quality, great quality up converting DVD too, fast loading times and start up, multichannel analog outputs.
Cons: Home network streaming is primitive , MKV is not supported over LAN connection, only USB and disc, since only FAT partitions are supported you are max at 4 GB files when using USB external drives. Expensive for what it offer.
