Samsung BD-C6500 has great features but they don't all work well

Summary: I bought the Samsung BD-C6500 on 8/2/2010, about 5 months ago. I was immediately impressed by: - the range of features - the range of apps - the ease of setup - the built-in draft-n Wifi - streaming ability - 1080p output - HDMI and component outputs - light weight of the footprint After about 2...
Summary: I bought this particular player after reading many of the reviews here, and a few from other sites. I wanted the blu-ray capability, but I was especially drawn to the Samsung Apps and thought that I'd be able to run the Hulu+ app so I could watch selected TV shows.
Summary: When I got to the internet hookup part of the setup, it would not connect. There was a message that read, "Due to the change of a wifi policy, cannot support the TKIP security type in 802.11 mode. In that case check a security setting in the access point." I have a Netgear WNR2000 router.
Summary: Samsung really needs to get their act together in supporting Macs. I wasted hours and hours trying to get this player to work with my Airport Extreme base station. Samsung support suggested I call Apple, basically passing the buck.
Mixed results with Internet features, keeping player for now

Summary: I plan on keeping this review up to date, so as things change I will keep adding to it. I will also try to answer any questions in comments. April 2, 2010 I received this player from Amazon today.

Summary: **PLEASE NOTE: I do not work for Samsung, nor do I have any stake in the company in any way (outside of wanting their stuff to work properly because I own it)** After looking at blu-ray players for a LONG time, I was finally glad to learn the new generation of Samsung players had been released.
Summary: This thing is a great blu ray player, but sucks for lovefilm and MKV playback. Lovefilm app often fails to work showing debug menus etc and movies are displayed zoomed in at an incorrect aspect ratio.
GREAT BLU RAY PLAYER BUT USELESS FOR BBC-I PLAYER!
22 August 2011
Summary: This machine is great for Blu ray discs, and upscales DVD's really well. It also plays an excellent selection of media files including AVI, through the USB connection on the front, and has wi-fi built in. But be warned, the BBC-i-player just DOES NOT WORK!
Summary: "Samsung's Blu-ray players can handle more than just Blu-ray discs. They will all play standard DVDs, even upscaling them to near full HD quality. Samsung Blu-ray players also allow you to plug in a wide range of digital devices via USB, so whether it's in MP3, DivX, Divx HD, JPEG, JPEG HD, MKV, or...
Summary: Having owned the BD-C6500 for 2 weeks now, I thought I would offer my opinions on the unit. Firstly, the unit unit arrived well packaged and on removing it from the box, was more than happy with the build quality, having a beautiful matt black, brushed aluminium front panel.
