Summary: The picture quality is great and the streaming quality is excellent. Unfortunately it stopped playing Blu-ray DVDs - even the ones I own that I had played before. I tried everything. I updated the firmware, reset the player and called support, but to no avail.
Summary: As others have mentioned, this device has several common failures that appear after a year or so. I've seen the following: - Player freezes before getting to the disk menu, often when switching between the various FBI warning screens or other disclaimers.
Summary: Could not connect (wireless)to the internet. Kept getting a "Gateway Ping" error message. Had an electrical engineer/computer guru (he builds computers) attempt w/o success. Returned the Samsung and bought a Sony BDP-S570 and it connected to the internet w/o a problem.
Summary: Purchased from Amazon. Wish it had broken down sooner because I would have returned it if possible. I've had the unit for about 4 months now. At first I used it only for DVD viewing and Neflix access and it worked flawlessly. Finally I started watching Blu Ray discs on it and ran into a problem.
Summary: I'm sitting here writing this review after power-cycling for the third time. Eventually, The "not connected to the internet- check connection" will stop, and I will be able to get to netflix. The disc player works most of the time.
Good player, but the wireless set up could drive you insane

Summary: I was blown away by the quality of the picture from this player. Setting up the wireless to connect to my router was the WORST experience of my life. This is the reason why I'm giving only 2 stars.
Summary: problematic. doesn't play discs properly. you have to eject and re-insert them to get them to work. the online feature is dog slow and it takes it a long long time to load programs. perhaps this model is a couple of years behind the times and now things have gotten a lot better...
You get one chance to make a first impression Samsung

Summary: I purchased this unit to replace my Oppo DVD player and wanted it specifically for streaming Netflix in HD to my 61 inch panel (as well as playing Blu rays). I tested my wireless network with two laptops at each end of my house and both were averaging over 12Mbps using Speedtest.
Summary: I had been told by people at various home theatre places that Samsung products were very good...I read good reviews of their products. Apparently I was misled. Not only that but the people at Samsung support told me the disc was the problem not the player...but I was using a new undamaged disc.
Cons: From the minute I got this player...I had a bad feeling. First of all it is so light that just touching it will move it...This may seem like a good thing, but when I put something somewhere I want it 6to stay there. Second: The online support at Samsung is horrible...Their questions are beyond red...
Summary: I guess I'm not the first reviewer to note that this device has a woefully over-hyped and non-functional WIFI capability. Unfortunately I did not scroll down thru enough reviews before I ordered. And so sadly I join the chorus to warn that if you need WIFI connectivity, don't bother.
