No Netflix, but all other apps are fine.

guzinta, CNET
9 January 2014
  • Summary: Samsung has really lost support and service credibility on this unit. If anyone has resolved this issue, PLEASE post, AND TELL Samsung how you did it. They don't have a clue.
  • Pros: Good on everything except Netflix
  • Cons: 5 calls to Samsung, 3 resets and uploads, and still no Netflix. All other devices, even on WiFi get it, but no Netflix on the Samsung Blu-ray. Their support has been worthless. All other services are fine.

Netflix streaming? Forget about it.

Nycam, CNET
10 January 2012
  • Summary: I spent time online and on the phone (several calls, days apart) with tech support regarding the inability to load or completely load Netflix. After rebooting (7-8 times over a week or so), resetting all the access and networking settings and trying, diligently, to get the machine to stream Netflix,...
  • Pros: Thin profile, works great for dvd and bluray discs.
  • Cons: Where to begin? The WORST experience ever for streaming Netflix., (This is hardwired instead of the wireless option)., Netflix did not load, did not load completely or did not play without stopping., Five movies in about 5 months without probs~!

Freezes and Needs a Reboot Every Time You Hit Pause!

No Name "babuace", Amazon
14 August 2011
  • Summary: Maybe we got a lemon, although I've read a few articles recently about how (a) electronics are becoming increasingly cheap and unstable, given their relatively short lifespans; and (b) how Samsung is one of the biggest offenders of cheap, buggy electronics. It's basically a race to the bottom.

Samsung BD-C6500 has great features but they don't all work well

Ryan Buckner, Amazon
19 January 2011
  • Summary: I bought the Samsung BD-C6500 on 8/2/2010, about 5 months ago. I was immediately impressed by: - the range of features - the range of apps - the ease of setup - the built-in draft-n Wifi - streaming ability - 1080p output - HDMI and component outputs - light weight of the footprint After about 2...

  • Summary: I found this unit on sale at Best Buy. It is very compatible with my Samsung HDTV. I don't think that matters. Setup was easy and.took less than 30 min to have operational out of the box Dvd load time is faster than my previous unit. I am very happy with the purchase.
  • Pros: Very easy to set up. Activation was simple with the wifi. Remote is very easy to operate.
  • Cons: I have found none.

FREEZES UP!!!

dbrad, Amazon
17 December 2010
  • Summary: I'm very disappointed with this blu-ray player. It freezes up on 80% of the blu-ray movies I watch. Before this player, I had a BD-P1500 and it did the same thing. I'm not sure if it is blu-ray players or disc, in general, that are the problem, or if it is just Samsung blu-ray players.

Love the features, execution is a little lacking.

  • Summary: Alright, I have had this player for almost 4 months now. There are some good things and some bad. If possible I would have rated it 2.5 stars. The good: I love the internet features it has.

Highly Satisfied Customer

JanH, Amazon
7 December 2010
  • Summary: This player was very easy to set up with dumbed-down instructions. The remote is one of the best I've seen with large buttons and backlighting. Setting up internet TV was a no-brainer. Streaming movies from Netflix have worked flawlessly.

Not ready for consumer

Be Careful "Be Aware", Amazon
29 November 2010
  • Summary: This blu ray player is not ready to be shipped to consumers, in my opinion. It is VERY difficult to set up the WiFi for services like Netflix. It may be okay if all you want to do is play blu ray discs, but if you want to get Netflix movies and similar services, prepare your self for an ordeal.

  • Summary: I just recently purchased my Samsung BD C6500 Blu Ray Player for my home. And boy was I surprised. I would definitely consider myself to be a tech-savvy person. After reading countless reviews and tests for this Blu Ray player, I pulled the trigger and bought this unit for $138.
