Summary: I got this when we re-did the system in Family Room and Kitchen before having a birthday party in Fall, 2011. I should have known something was up when the home theater company that sold us and set up the centerpiece Samsung TV, told me that, in general, Samsung Blu Ray players don't rate well. Sure enough, during the last two years, and despite the updates, this unit remains slow to upload, and refuses - just refuses to play some Blu Ray or DVD discs I drop in its tray.
Summary: I love Samsung products, including 2 of their TVs, and an SSD. But this DVD player falls flat. The interface is painfully slow, and sometimes it doesn't read DVDs at all. Spring in the dvd door broke early on as well. The touch buttons look nice, but they aren't that functional, especially when the unit is so slow to respond. You'll find yourself hitting the buttons repeatedly thinking nothing is happening.
Summary: This is "WiFi Ready", which means you have to buy a dongal for $80 to $120 if you want to use the WiFi. Models 6800 and higher have built in WiFi and the price difference is much less than the dongal. You will have a problem if you use this with a surround sound system that is 2 to 10 years old. Most people who buy a big TV have a separate surround sound system. Higher end surround sound systems have HDMI inputs for your different equipment (cable box, DVD player, etc.
Summary: A BD player these days is not just for playing BDs and DVDs but also for playing music CDs and serving content from the internet. Let me go through the nice aspects of this player first: * Fast BD/CD load times - disks load almost instantly * Nice picture quality. Upscaling to 1080p works very well too (at least when viewed on a 46" Samsung LED TV). * Overall nice for watching BD/DVDs Here are the areas of improvement: * Remote control buttons could be made better.
Summary: I purchased this player because marketing materials stated that 3D capable blu ray players will run Hulu plus, and because I wanted the AllShare functionality. After 4 days, multiple support interactions and hours on the mysterious Samsung Apps website, etc, I have determined that this player does not support Hulu Plus. Apparently, the internet does not know this (I checked ALL of the internet).
Great for bu ray. 3d quality could be much better.

Summary: This is my 2nd 3d player. My dog used the other as a chew toy! This one is a couple models down from my last and the 3d Image does not come out at you like the last one did. I have upgraded all cables to my system to moster cable 17.5gbp and the quality did improve but still has not reached the quality I expect.
Summary: On the whole this blu ray player would be a great product if we didnt have this issue: Every time the player is switched on, after about 10 minutes, the screen will start to crackle, then the sound will jump, screen will begin to flicker, then the audio and video will completely go off. after 2 minutes, the audio and videio resume good as new. I put up with this for a while and tried different cables.
Can't fault it as a player, but no audio delay option makes it useless for me

Summary: I got this player as a bundle deal with the Samsung 40" D6750 LED TV earlier this year, however I didn't buy any Blu-Ray discs for a while. This Christmas, I received a box set of the Harry Potter movies and I was really looking forward to sitting down and watching them. However, most of you will probably know that Samsung TVs do a lot of image processing, which delays the signal somewhat.
Does Not Stream Love Film or BBC iplayer as Samsung advertises it does
27 December 2010
Summary: I thought this would stream Love Film and BBC iplayer (as Samsungs web site and others stipulated it does). However as at 27th Dec 2010 no Samsung blu ray players do stream Love Film at present according to Love Film today. Love Film are unsure when this service will be available on Samsungs blu ray players although they do hope it will become available soon.
Summary: this 3d blu ray player is not the best. its tinny, looks cheap and the play back quality isnt brilliant. i purchased this from someone who got it in a 3d tv deal for free. as a freebie its ok and its a starting point for 3d. it is easy to set up and use. the blu ray only version is about 100 in the shops, this is 170-180 to go and buy it and around 130 from here. i would not recomend paying this kind of cash for this.
