Not the best, perhaps one of the worst?

J. Hanks, Amazon

  • Summary: Ours has never quite worked well It's a couple of years old and I have had enough of it. Complaints 1 - Takes forever to get going 2 - Lately you have to power it off and on again almost every time we put a disk in it 3 - Eject does not work at times, have to turn it off and back on to get it to work.

  • Summary: This is the second SAMSUNG Blu-ray disc player I've owned, and it was a little faster to load than the prior...but it is still extremely SLOW to boot up a DVD...even a regular (non-Blu-ray) disc. I have to imagine there are faster products out there.

Firmware won't update

P. Acosta, Amazon
18 August 2013
  • Summary: Got the refurb to save a bit and the firmware won't update because the model number doesn't match. Try to go to Samsung's website and as usual doesn't open with firefox. Not happy so far, but not ready to ship it back yet. I'll update this at a later date.

  • Summary: blu-ray,dvd, netflix, pandora, apps, and streaming files from my computer. I've had for 3 weeks and everything works great. I'm on my free month of netflix (didn't realize how few shows netflix offers) I've tried a dozen or so different applications (crackle is a nice free movie app) they load fast even on my basic cable internet, a few apps are preloaded and cant be removed.

  • Summary: I never had a chance to actually use this device because when I went to my local store to pick it up, it had a broken piece just hanging there right out the box. It may well be a good player but fifty or two hundred dollars there is no excuse for shipping a damaged product.

  • Summary: I really like this player and it's ability to stream from Netflix however I didn't realize I needed to buy a separate adapter for the wi-fi to work. The description should make that more clear!

Disappointed. No longer plays blu rays. Already serviced once

John Quillen, Amazon

  • Summary: Technically, mine is a BDC5500C that I bought in Jan 2011. Within 3 months, the video went. About 2 weeks out for service. 4 months ago, it stopped playing Blu Rays. It's a shame. The Internet apps like Netflix, Pandora and VuDu are great. It plays DVDs. Since it's a Blu Ray player, it really ought to play Blu Rays! I have 2 Samsung TVs and 2 Samsung computer monitors that I am very happy with. This Blu Ray player is junk.

  • Summary: Is NOT wireless ready as described. It requires an adapter that is not included. It is very nice but the additional expense of the adapter is annoying when it said "The Samsung Blu-Ray DVD player is also wireless LAN-ready." Probably great for those whose TV is next to their router, but won't work for us without purchasing the Samsung adapter WIS09ABGN for $60+.We will see how easy return works!

Disappointing

Skeet, Amazon
26 November 2012
  • Summary: I purchased this Blu-ray player a couple years ago. It played blu-rays.... at first. I didn't notice for quite some time (when Fast and Furious 5 came to the redbox) that I would soon find out it will no longer play blu-rays. I did a reset and still i can't play them. I've read about this on many sites. I've read it may have something to do with an update on the player. Tech support wrote to try and use compressed air as there might be dust.
