Summary: This player crashes constantly - if i hit fast forward one too many times it will crash and I have to unplug, wait 5 seconds, plug it back in and then wait at least 10 minutes for the player to boot up. This happens constantly on Lost complete collection, Dexter Seasons 1-3, Supernatural Season 1 and Battlestar Galactica Complete collection. The latest firmware was released in April.
Summary: I have this player on a tube TV...so in not sure of the visual performance...I'm using the fibre optic output and the sound is amazing! Great buy! Plays scratched discs but not burnt discs. Setup was a little difficult but you have a lot of options for custom set up. And in my opinion...since its pioneer...it will last forever!
Summary: I purchased this player some days ago, while I was upgrading my TV to HD. I chose the BDP-120 for a specific reason: region codes. The consumer-hostile atrocity that some studios force on their customers hits people outside of the US (US = region 1) especially hard. My DVD collectio (almost exclusively region 1) is large, and I live in Switzerland (= region 2). The BDP-120 comes with a code-free DVD player, but *does* enforce regions on the BD.
Excerpt: "...is great. Together with a Pioneer plasma it's stunning. The loading times was very slow at the beginning so I had to search the internet for a solution. I tried the pioneer website, but no cigar. I can't remember where I finally found the software upgrade, but the upgrade took care of all my loading problems and the fact that it was pretty slow in general. Upgraded it works great accept for the region problem which I just have to accept. I would ...
Pros: the finish looks great, audio and video rocks aswell
Summary: Maybe I just dont know how to use it! but my BD live doesnt seem to connect. Always some sort of error. Bit noisy which is annoying. Playback isnt too bad. picture quality is great. nice looking and easy to use. good for the price. dont forget to get your update!
Summary: Although an excellent blu ray player do not be mislead by the term quick start. I have loaded my Avatar blu ray disc and quick start it is not. Be prepared to wait anything between 5 -6 minutes. This I understand is due to the amount of animation/graphics on the movie.
Summary: Das Gerät funktioniert tadellos.
