Too many problems with this unit.

Michael, Amazon
  • Summary: I bought this unit about 6 months ago and have had nothing but problems with it. First and foremost is the unit had a tendency to lock up, requiring a hard power down to get it restarted. The other issue was that I good not effectively get it to integrate with iRule, due to the fact the units ip address would constantly change, despite efforts to set it up with a static ip address. I eventually through the unit in the trash due to the frustration it caused.

Don't Buy this Player for it's Multi-Region capacity

Dr. Paul J. Lavrakas "PJLPHD", Amazon
3 September 2013
  • Summary: I bought this to be able to watch DVDs from other countries. It worked fine at first, but now it has failed, giving me a Wrong Region Code error, even on the disks it first played. I contacted Pioneer Tech Support and they explained that someone monkeyed with the insides of this to make it multi-region but what they did failed and Pioneer is not allowed to fix their products that have been modified by someone else.

Don't buy this

Mark A. Lund, Amazon
22 August 2013
  • Summary: The first one I received was dead on arrival. Crawford replaced it promptly. The second one has numerous problems. Each time I set up networking it would get lost every time I used the device so had to be reset after each use. There were also frequent lock ups. This player will not play anything except BD. None of my older DVD will play and yes I take care of my DVD's. The remote is barely functional.

region 2 dvd didn't play

Steven M Schultz, Amazon
20 May 2013
  • Summary: the advertisement says all regions of DVDs would play. the unit I received give a "wrong region" error when a region 2 dvd is inserted. I have contacted the seller to see if the wrong unit was sent. for the premium price charged the unit should be region free, if the unit was $150 less it would be just another BD player that is region 1 limited.

Awful piece of high end junk

Dale T. Morse, Amazon
10 March 2013
  • Summary: I bought this player yesterday from Best Buy, only because they price matched Amazon. I always own 2 blu-rays because I watch a lot of TV series like House, The Closer, Justified etc. My main player is the OPPO BD-93, which hands down is the best on the market, and the OPPO is my main blu-ray player. I also keep a second one for the DVD TV series I watch daily.
