Summary: I couldn't have been more impressed. This Blu-ray Player was highly recommended by Which? and subsequent searches of the internet provided additional recommendations. The only issue I had at this time was the cost which was more than I had anticipated. However on searching through Amazon I was surprised to find that there was a player available at a cost much lower than I was able to find anywhere else and lower then Which? themselves had been able to find.
Summary: We are very pleased with the performance of our Philips Blu-Ray player. Image and sound quality are beyond criticism, the player is easy to set up and use, and wi-fi video streaming works really well with our Linksys router. It's a joy to watch content from the BBC i-Player, for example, on the big screen. Overall, an excellent product at a very fair price. Highly recommended.
Summary: Plugged in and set up is easy very nice piece of kit. Arrived on time. Would recommend to anyone. All the internet connection works fine only thing is to download extra content for Bluray disks you need at least 4Gb HC SD card.
Summary: I wasn't particularly looking for a Blu-Ray Player, but I was wanting to find a way of getting BBC iPlayer onto my TV which has no internet connection. Buying a Blu-Ray with an internal WiFi was one way of resolving the problem and this has worked out very well. The only difficulty was trying to remember my modem's security key but when that was eventually found everything went smoothly.
Summary: How do you choose between different blue ray players? Well one way is to look at independent testers. This is a Which best buy which is why I bought it. Very easy to set up, good quality and works well. Normal CDs look better as well. Internet seems easy, but hardly ever use it. If you don't have catch-up TV already then access to the i-player on the internet would be useful.
Summary: Once unpacked and plugged in (using my own HDMI cable as it does not come with one), I was instantly impressed. The Blu-Ray player worked fine (slightly noisey upon initially loading a disc but fine when playing) and gave an outstandingly sharp picture on my 40" Samsung 1080p TV. Next I set up the Wi-Fi. It found my network no problem prompting me to enter my network key and, Hey Presto! I was connected! NetTV works great and some great apps are available.
Summary: Had £50 of vouchers from christmas and an aging dvd player in the bedroom, with a multimedia hard drive HD box that we used to watch movies and TV via a pendrive/network connection to the office PC, this box replaces them all and gives me BBC I-Player as an extra. Box was in my hands less than 48hrs after I ordered it, plugged it in, connected to the WiFi BeBox with no issues, upgraded the firmware via the menu system over the WiFi and was happily watching HD I-player...
Summary: Bought this to replace the LG surround sound Blu-ray system we have that would not play anything other than European region DVD's, and though the LG player seemed to be fine with Blu-Ray discs from different regions, it couldn't handle the 3D discs. We didn't want to pay a lot of money for a 2nd Blu-Ray player, but were a also bit reluctant to get this, as it clearly states 'Region X' on the box.
