Pay The Extra 20 Bucks And Get A Better One!

Richard John, Amazon
17 January 2013
  • Summary: Well, after years of using this DVD player I can safely say I am not a fan and regret my purchasing it. As far as watching DVD and Blu Rays it performs adequately, meaning that it at least plays them.

I have never hated a DVD player as I abhor this one

Rebecca Johnston, Amazon
17 January 2013
  • Summary: I have never hated a DVD player as I abhor this one. The comments about the responsiveness to the remote are all true. Also, I bought the player for the ability to connect to Netflix, and this player performs poorly.

We finally replaced the darn thing... even though it still works... because it sucks.

Lexie Pear, Amazon
17 January 2013
  • Summary: This poor thing is tragic. It randomly decides to freeze-up at least 2-3 times a month... to the point that we have to unplug it to get a response (the buttons won't work on the player itself OR the remote). It has been doing this since we first bought it.

Don't waste your time

kvp, Amazon
17 January 2013
  • Summary: I just bought this a day ago from Target and it is absolutely awful. The remote is so cheap that it hardly works. The player doesn't respond to any of the buttons being pressed on the remote and it makes using the player difficult.

Disappointed

SeattleGeek, Amazon
17 January 2013
  • Summary: I've been a fan of Philips DVD players in the past. I have owned DVD727, DVP642, DVP5990. Pros: Supports a lot of file formats Cons: 1. The remote is awful. You need to be really closer to the Blu ray player to make it work. You may have to press the button multiple times.

Quite Satisfied

S. Roberts, Amazon
17 January 2013
  • Summary: The Philips DVD players are the only ones I've found that will play my homemade videos, and this one works like a champ. The blue-ray and std. dvds play great and the picture quality is outstanding. This player is slow to open the disk tray, but that problem isn't unique to this one...

  • Summary: I'm a really fan of phillips products. Since the begining the best home theaters, the only ones that worked all the copied DVD's and never get halted was phillips, I had like 6 diferent models all very good until now. Unfortunelly this is my first expierience with phillips BD players.

Worth $60 and no more.

Carolyn Humphrey, Amazon
17 January 2013
  • Summary: I got this BDP to be able to watch netflix wirelessly on my tv about a year ago. I got a great deal on it which was why I bought it. About every 3 months or so I have to re-boot the whole thing and enter my wireless settings manually which is kind of a pain using a slow remote control and since I...

Faulty product

Swapna Krishnan, Amazon
17 January 2013
  • Summary: I initially gave it a good review but it turns out it's a faulty product. The remote became insensitive, the player hangs. Stay out of it!
