Turns to junk soon after warranty expires

Jeff Jarman, Amazon

  • Summary: I have a PS3 so I bought this Phillips for my parents. It was cheap and seemed easy enough. Until it turned into junk. Almost EVERY disc we try says "unknown disc" and spins erratically while trying to figure out what it's doing. Does this with blu rays and most DVDs as well. I thought maybe I just had a flawed player, but turns out a lot of people have had this problem.

Don't waste your money.

Danielle Williams, Amazon

  • Summary: Completely agree with KC Jayhawk. This player is not worth the trouble. Even after contacting customer service and getting a replacement from the company, the initial problems persisted and continued to get worse. The player froze consistently, would not play certain discs at all (some blu-ray discs as well as DVDs), and failed to download updates (though I concede that could be due to network issues, but several tries, different days and different times still failed.

  • Summary: Works well for DVD and Blu-Rays but freezes a lot with wireless internet features. Also if you loose you remote your in a world of hurt since the machine only has a power and eject button.

  • Summary: This DVD player is advertised as having several multi media uses, and it may do them but I just wanted a all region DVD player. So far I have played DVDs from Australia and the UK without any problems, I can't speak to its long term durability, but it seems to play anything I put in it.

An awesome Blu Ray player that also supports DivX!

Patrick R., Amazon
7 July 2014
  • Summary: I don't know why this Blu Ray player has so many 1 stars here. It is terribly unfair to give a perfectly good product such as this a 1 star rating just because you failed to read the description thoroughly before purchase. What is wrong with people? Let me clarify: This Blu Ray --->> DOES NOT SUPPORT WIFI <<----- Get it?? You can under NO circumstances connect this to your wifi. Ever. To your home network? Yes. Wirelessly? NO!

Great for my use!

Walter D. Fitzgerald, Amazon

  • Summary: Easy to set up the basic stuff. I got this to play BD discs, since my other and older Vizio stopped playing Blu-Rays. Both play regular DVD's also. My Vizio player is hooked up to my internet so I can get Netflix and Pandora on that. This is a great Blu-Ray/DVD player for a minimal price. I didn't get if for the bells and whistles. Just as an addition. I've had it for about a month now, and it hasn't disappointed me.
