Blu-ray Recorder

Xerxes, Amazon
13 April 2014
  • Summary: It is reasonably simple and quick to use and is still working well. Of special note is the semi-automatic update of all digital stations (both television and wireless).

Excellent image quality - best recorder ever owned.

Cougar, Amazon
6 January 2013
  • Summary: Excellent picture quality (freeview HD) looks like the original source and freeview SD looks good upscalled. Very good at upscalling DVDs and Bluray is amazing sharp images. HD space is sufficient (500GB) as the pure digital mode is very efficient. If Panasonic update the software id argue the earlier models are as good as or better because they also have RGB input and in my opinion look cosmetically better, although i guess this is personal taste.

Excellent HD hard drive & Blu-Ray recorder

Alan_Somerset "Alan_Somerset", Amazon

  • Summary: I have now got 2 of these machines, I bought one back in September so I could have HD upstairs and when my old analogue DVD recorder started playing up I thought I would buy another. The tuner is excellent and gives good HD quality pictures (although only 4 channels at the moment). I am not too concerned with the adverts when looking at the programme schedule; that is a minor inconvenience and if you have a big enough TV screen it should be no problem.

Panasonic DMR-BW880EBK 500GB HDD

rojcrad, Amazon
17 March 2011
  • Summary: Superb piece of kit - easy to use & the Freeview HD picture quality is superb - better than Sky HD in my opinion. I would have liked a playlist option, but you can't have everything.

All I hoped for

Briggy, Amazon
16 February 2011
  • Summary: I find it difficult to fault this product because, although it's expensive, it does all it claims to do very well indeed. The weaknesses of my previous HDD recorder (Sony)are now well sorted ie. fan noise, slow response from the remote control, inaccurate programme timing and unreliable TV guide. Picture quality is superb and operation is very intuitive. As with others, my only slight complaint is the existence of adverts on the TV guide.

Expensive but worth it

C. J. Bird, Amazon
25 October 2010
  • Summary: Excellent product, does everything it promises to and having upgraded from an old-style DVD recorder it has literally changed our lives! Lots of features, excellent quality. Only negative comment I would make is that it takes a bit of time to power up, but so do a lot of electronics these days.
