Summary: I bought this mainly for 3D movies. The loading is fast. It works pretty well. The only thing I don't like is the remote control which has a touch pad. It is very difficult to use this touch pad to control the player or on-screen menu. I also used it for 2D movies. It performs really well.
Summary: This player performed as well as all the good reviews claimed except for the WiFi reception, which is very weak. My Panasonic TV has no problem receiving my WiFi signal; all the apps are strong, but this DVD player struggles and often freezes up trying. As far as playing a DVD, whether standard, BluRay or 3-D, the quality is great and the access is very fast.
Summary: Audio Quality: 4.5 BluRay: 4.5 (due to my issues with dual HDMI config) - Slightly improved vs 40GB PS3. It was nice to see something other than Linear PCM go across my AVR's screen. - Note: Had audio issues with dual HDMI configuration. Don't know what was going on, but audio was going in and out at odd times. CD: 5.0 - Played Alicia Keys and Bruno Mars cds and noticed great clarity and depth in the music. Only CD I've tested so far.
Pros: Sleek, modern styling; Sturdy Construction; Built-in Wi-Fi; Analog/Digital connections; Fast load time
Cons: Touchpad can be annoying after a while; Wi-Fi connection slower than my 40GB PS3
Summary: First of all, this is a great Blu-ray player for both video and audio. I don't rate the streaming features, because the software guys keep changing what works and if you really want this, get a PC. This is not a computer. I also don't care about streaming. I want full rez, full frame rate discs. The picture quality is excellent as is the startup and navigation. Disc access is quick. The audio part is where this unit shines.
Summary: I bought this player specifically to replace a previous Blu-ray player that I was very dissatisfied with due to some audio problems (let's just say "Life wasn't Good"). What I didn't expect is that the Panasonic player would also substantially improve both the video and audio I had been experiencing. The player was shiny and beautiful out of the box which I will have to work to keep it that way since I imagine fingerprints will easily show up.
plays netflix great, some problems with flac audio

Summary: I've had this bdt500 four days now. It has played several videos from netflix with subtitles great, also played an hdx video fully from vudu with no problems, and I looked at a small portion of MI3 from amazon with no problem. All this is using a 12Mb Att network connection, not the wireless. However, I tried playing one of the flac format albums from the beatles stereo usb, and the bdt500 wouldn't recognize its disk format when plugged into the front panel.
Summary: I am not going into what this player can do as I would have to write a few pages and lists to do that. However, I will say it just about meets all my requirements and expectations, really good quality both structural and performance. If you are looking for a high standard blu ray player with a lot of extra's then you won't be disappointed.
