Great when it works

jaybird, Amazon
8 April 2013
  • Summary: This player is good but the disc has to be in pristine condition. If you rent videos expect the disc to pause pixelate and fail playing altogether. If you buy videos new then it works great. I have rented several movies that would not work in this player that played fine in my computer.

2D to 3D less than useful

Anything in 3D, Amazon
5 April 2012
  • Summary: I bought this unit mostly for the 2D to 3D conversion. I don't know how it performs with Active Shutter glasses but with passive 3D (VISIO), it is really poor. The center of the screen is OK but everything else jitters like the TV is in the middle of an earthquake.

Picture good, DLNA so-so

Matthew S. Anderson, Amazon
15 March 2012
  • Summary: My main criteria for ordering this was to replace my PS3, which I never played games on but used for watching Blu Rays, streaming Netflix and DLNA content from my home server. All these were great on the PS3, except for the noise and power consumption.

Needs SD Card Inserted to Properly Play Some Netflix Titles

John, Amazon
28 July 2011
  • Summary: A nice unit with lots of features, but it needs an SD card inserted to play some Netflix titles. I guess the memory provides additional buffering. 2D-3D conversion is nice and primarily adds depth. Separate HDMI for audio also is great.

Good player but there are some things you need to know

dvdeo, Amazon
13 June 2011
  • Summary: I was expecting to replace my media player (ASUS) using this one. I believed that it will be faster, easier to use and would support everything I need. So to cut the cr** here are pros and cons. PROS: - Fast. Boot, MKV rewind, Network Access. - HDMI CEC together with Viera TV works perfectly!

3D bluray great, DVD upscaler poor

pldj, Amazon
27 July 2011
  • Summary: Purchased as I needed the 2 HDMI outputs, Great bluray and 3d, however to be honest not a noticeable difference from my PS3. I was also shocked to find the DVD quality really poor! To the extent of me asking for a replacement as Panasonic insisted I must have a faulty unit.

Bild gut - Multimedia (MKV Unterstützung) lückenhaft

ararat "fw", Amazon
24 April 2012
