Summary: Quite a disappointment.Bought this bluray player on amazon, paid in GBP for it. When it was delivered I was charged 40 euros customs, and upon opening, found it to be only region A bluray(US only). This should have been made clear,on the advert, also 110 v. Totally unsuitable for the European market. So, why is it Amazon allow it to be advertised in Europe. The bright side of the story was that Bling refunded my money and Amazon refunded the postage.
REQUIRES network connection to view BD live disks whether you want it or not

Summary: First, this is a nice 3D Blu-ray player and 1 of the only two choices available IF you have an older non-3D ready home theater audio receiver like one of the Sony ES series. Unlike most other 3D players, the Panasonic has 2 HDMI outputs which is necessary to get the audio from 3D disks to output through your AV receiver. One HDMI goes to the TV with the video and the second one goes to your AVR as an audio only connection.
Summary: What a crock. My 4 year old PS3 does much more than this and it plays games too. After unpacking fired it up, popped in a MKV DVD and it worked. Unfortunately it was all downhill from there. No NTFS support for USB devices so all files need to be less than 4gb. That means the 25gig blu ray films need to be converted to mkv or MPEG2 (this won't play AVCHD from a USB nor VOB). After converting you then need to split the large file into 4 or 5 separate files of 4gig each.
Summary: I wasn't paying attention and didn't notice that I needed to purchase HDMI cables separately as the last DVD player we bought had them included. Doh! Opened Christmas morning and of course nowhere to get cables. Hate having to wait to use it!
Inaccurate and Misleading Capabilities in Advertising
Boppin Bobby, Amazon
24 August 2011
Summary: While the operation of the unit as a Blu-Ray/DVD player is very good and the menu system for navigation is straighforward and simple, there are serious limitations in the ability to use a SD Card (memory). One of the main reasons I opted for this unit was its advertised capability of playing MPG2 video files. The machine simply will not play them.
Summary: There are several things that you need to be aware of: 1. I am very disappointed in Netflix performance: navigation is extremely slow, video freezes up a lot. 2. As far as DLNA goes - I was not able to watch any of my MP4, AVI, and MOV videos stored on the NAS. I can play them via LG BD670 and PS3 no problem. 3. The remote control is extremely uncomfortable. I think it's too short. 4. Menu is not pretty at all and feels very old.
Summary: Bought this after sending the LG670 back but, this one didn`t meet the expectations either. Nothing special about the image quality. My main purpose was to play my files, pics,MKV over the DLNA wireless but connection took 2 days and couldnt play the movies over DLNA but finally played while i was on the phone to Panasonic help line. Picture quality for my MKVs, family video recordings over the DLNA was too bad.
Summary: I love my Dmr ex83 panasonic recorder which is very good with dvds but this product is absolute crud, yes it does a good job of 2d-3d with good results & some bluray discs do look good infact sublime but there lays the problem because some discs look shocking despite tweaking & pixal setup variation.Dr who christmas special 2010,predators & clash of the titans are the worst pictures i've seen on any bluray player & dvd upscaling is below par too.If you don't need 3d or 2...
Summary: As others have mentioned, this is a very good player but is let down by the noisy operation. I tried to increase the volume to drown out the high pitched whine but ended up with a headache. The wifi function worked well when I first set it up to connect to my home network but on subsequent usage it had dropped out and I had to go through the whole setup procedure again.
Summary: Habe den Player gestern bekommen. Angeschaltet, BlueRay rein! Ausgemacht, eingepackt und zurückgeschickt. Schade, aber das Laufwerk ist eindeutig zu laut. Ich habe mir jetzt den Philips BDP 7600 bestellt. Ich hoffe mal, das dieser leiser ist!
