SD card and USB port are almost useless and unit has poor networking

Summary: The USB port is supposed to play .mkv video's, but it wont. It errors with the message "Cannot play this title." The SD card slot will not play videos in the formats such as .mkv, .mp4, .avi, or .3gp. I didn't try other formats. Wow, massive failure for usability. Even if the USB port would play videos, this unit will only recognize up to FAT32 which means that any files over 4 gig can't be put on a USB drive. Really Panasonic, what were you thinking?
Summary: If you are only watching 2D then this is probably a decent affordable BD player. However, II bought this with high hopes that the dual output HDMI would allow me to use my high-end Onkyo/Integra surround processor for 3D, as it only had HDMI 1.3 support. No go. First, the setup for 3D on legacy HDMI setups was really counter-intuitive. I got 2D working fine, but in 3D could only get a picture no matter how I configured the HDMI.
Summary: What a disappointment. I opted for the blu-ray player as the price seemed pretty good, and the offer of Star Wars seemed particularly appealing. I sent off for the blu-ray as soon as I received my blu-ray player and I enclosed my original Amazon receipt. A letter arrived this morning with the statement "You have not supplied a copy of your receipt". Well I know I did, and it's very disappointing. So, don't take account of the offer in your purchase decision.
Summary: I bought this item as new direct from Amazon. When it arrived it was an ex display model. Scratches on the front and even the "try me" advert still glued to the top from the shop. I contacted Amazon who, although systematically apologetic, could not offer me a reason for why I had been sold a used product. If you order this item please check it carefully as you don't want to pay for something new, only to get a used item.
Great picture and sound quality - if you can stand the noise from the player !

Summary: This is probably one of the best blu-ray players on the market in terms of picture and sound quality but is completely let down an extremely noisy drive mechanism when playing DVD or blu-ray discs. The noise could be heard above the volume of the TV and was so annoying I ended up returning the player to Amazon for a refund.
