Summary: This a fantastic DVD / Blu-Ray player. But it is not good for much else. I have this BD/DVD player and a Panasonic plasma TV. But I have an Onkyo digital receiver. All components are advertised as being compliant with the HDMI CEC protocol (which Panasonic calls "VEIRA Link"). FWIW, my 50" Panasonic 3D plasma TV is also a "VIERA Link" device.

Summary: In the past 3 years I have own 5 different blu-ray players, all Sony, except for this one. I have the Panasonic DMP-BDT100 blu-ray for hooked up to a Panasonic TC-L37U22 . The overall rating of this unit is based on a variety of basic uses that most new customers will find important, I have also rated each of these uses individually, based on my experiences with the Panasonic DMP-BDT100.
This player does not display 4:3 DVDs in the correct aspect ratio!

Summary: When I first got this Blu-ray player I was pleased, until I tried to watch a DVD in the standard 4:3 aspect ratio. The Panasonic Blu-ray player cuts off the left and right edges of the picture (so that you lose about 5% of the picture), and it squeezes what's left of the picture from the left and right sides. Altogether, I estimate the picture at this point to be 10% smaller that it should be from left to right.
