Amazon Customer, Amazon
1 November 2015
  • Summary: Usually get a good picture on DVD and BLU-RAY movies but once in awhile will get a glitch or breakup of the pixels which can be annoying. Tried updating the firmware but still get the glitch. If your a perfectionist then look for another player.

Nice picture

Thomas D Yatabe, Amazon
5 March 2014
  • Summary: This deck was highly recommended when reviewed by Consumer Reports. I have no real complaints, except that I missed the streaming of services such as Netflix. That option was included in the next version, so that is lacking. It does not play 3D Bluray.

RaptureReady, Amazon
10 January 2013
  • Summary: The Audio is much better than my old Helos DVD conected to my Yamaha V2400 AVR, however I am disapointed with Componet Cable play back. This unit Will Not upconvert 480P to 720P. By reading Panasonics description of product - I thought it would.

disappointed, Amazon
19 November 2012
  • Summary: This unit worked great for about 12 months but now it makes a really horrible noise when loading a Blue Ray disc and after about 2 minutes says the disc is "unreadable". It will play regular DVDs still though. Bizarre...

Reliable player

Ricardo Takao Oikawa, Amazon
20 September 2011
  • Summary: Video quality is fine for both BD and DVDs, although VRS Anchor Bay based players are capable of better quality images. Its sound is also good for a BD player, actually BD80 is far better than BD45/60/65/75, good enough to use BD80 as a CD spinner.

BD80 Unit fails to recognize disks after 18 months

PJBJinSoCal, Amazon
7 June 2011
  • Summary: Was entirely happy with this unit until this morning when it no longer recognizes any kind of disk. Have had it for 18 months, so it is out of warranty! Was not used much! One expects better from such a higher end unit. Tried a cleaning disk to no avail.

John L., Amazon

  • Summary: Being electronically challenged, I found this unit easy to use. Once I try to play a 3-D film, I'll know it's perfect.

Enjoy blu ray without upgrading all your equipment

soccer doctor, Amazon
25 April 2010
  • Summary: I bought this blu ray disc player solely for the reason that it had 7.1 analog inputs. This blu ray player allows those of us who have spent thousands of dollars building a quality home theater to keep our old equipment instead starting all over again in order to enjoy the benefits of blu ray.

Panasonic Blue Ray

Jeffrey Berg, Amazon
24 April 2010
  • Summary: I bought this unit after hearing about it at a high end stereo store. This is the perfect dvd player if you have a stereo receiver that does not have an HDMI input. It accepts analog inputs. It seems hard to really get into the fine tuning for the analog but if you can do it it's great.
