Summary: One of the reasons I bought this product was because it is Panasonic! I used to own very good Panasonic products. Another reason was it claims to support MP3 on DVDs, more attractively, on USBs. But I was very disappointed. It stops constantly after paying for about 10 minutes! I upgraded the firmware to the latest one. Same problem. I didn't bother to try other formats and decided to return it. What happens to Panasonic!
Good product, who I purchased it from is an awful company

Summary: I purchased this item, it took almost a whole month to receive it. The store I purchased it from didn't bother packing the item in a abox, just slapped on a shipping label on the box, I rec'd it. It was used, the whole front of the player was scratched. The batteries were already in the remote. If I ever have to order anymore electronics from AMAZON and they are from Newtownvideos, I will not order it.
Summary: I bought this for my bedroom HDTV. It does a fine job (the bedroom TV is 32"). Loads quickly and plays without a hitch. Compared with my hi end main blu-ray player using a 65" ultra HD TV this unit is a bit softer looking - but that's to be expected given it's price.
Summary: I was looking for a Blu-ray player without the streaming stuff (I use Roku for that). This unit is streaming capable, but was no more expensive than other units which were not. Also, I have a Panasonic TV, so they both have the Viera link. I actually haven't even tried that yet, but the player works flawlessly. Blu-ray discs load quickly, and all the features work like they're supposed to. This is exactly what I was looking for.
Summary: NO complaints with how it runs. I don't like that it doesn't tell the time for how far into a movie you are. I'm a working college student and my husband and I often start movies and intend to finish them later. It's easier to know where you are if you have a time on it. Other than that, no complaints at all. Works great!
Summary: I didn't want a Blu-ray player will all kinds of gadgets. I just wanted a simple player. This fits the bill fine. It plays all the disks Netflix sends with no up date required. very happy with it.
Summary: 100% satisfied with the Panasonic DMP-BD79. Set-up was quick and easy. Fast boot and load times. Excellent picture and sound quality. LAN port for wired network connection and Wi-Fi capable with optional, proprietary wireless LAN adapter (obviously not as cost effective as purchasing a Blu-ray player with built-in Wi-Fi.) Overall, a great Blu-ray Disc player.
